DRC has been operating in the Middle East (ME) region for over a decade, running a combination of emergency, livelihood, protection and advocacy programmes through Country Offices (COs) in Yemen, Syria, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Turkey with a Regional Office (RO) in Amman.

Throughout its nine field offices and a workforce of 450 staff, DRC upholds its main programmatic objectives to provide imemediate and life sustaining assistance, to strengthen the protective environment, and to reduce displacement related risks and vulnerabilities by promoting self-reliance at household and community level.

About the job

Finance- Intern will provide financial support to DRC as per DRC and donor regulations and procedures.She/he will seek and receive policy guidance/ instructions and support from Finance Manager on his/her responsibilities.

Geographic scope: Country (Yemen – Sana’a)

The duty station of Finance – Intern will be based in Sana’a.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure to prepare the cash count and sign it with the authorized person on a monthly basis.
  • Responsible to issue cheques to the payments reviewed and POs invoices for both Bank and cash transactions and prepare wire transfer requests.
  • Responsible for transferring funds to field offices as per requested.
  • Ensure to availability of sufficient money in safe cash and bank in USD and YER currencies daily basis in compliance with DRC policies.
  • Maintaining the receipt book and ensuring that authorized receipts are issued upon receipt of monies.
  • Ensure the fulfillment of all financial documents (copies of the cheques and pay slips) is filed.
  • Responsible to scan all the documents stamped in compliance with DRC.
  • Responsible for archiving and organizing well-documented files (all files must be labeled accurately and visibly) and sequential filing system for all payments and uploading all the documents scanned in (OneDrive) Dynamics Upload.
  • Correctly use DRC Dynamics functionalities in the area of concern.
  • Performing any additional tasks and work required by the supervisor.

About you

To be successful in this role you must have:

  • Fresh Graduated or 1-2 years of relevant work experience
  • Understand how to admin tasks
  • Very Good communication skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Basic proficiency in PowerPoint and Word
  • Commitment to meet deadlines
  • Fast Learner

Required Qualifications:

Diploma or equivalent professional qualification

Languages:

  • Advanced English proficiency
  • Fluency in Arabic language (written and spoken).

  • We offer

DRC will offer the successful applicant a 3 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 1st of September 2023 and be willing and able to work in Sana’a****.
