Role and responsibilities:

The Finance Coordinator is responsible for ensuring technical financial support on day-to-day operational processes while ensuring adherence to NRC’s policies, legal and donor requirements.

Generic responsibilities

  • Implement NRC’s systems and procedures at area level

  • Ensure adherence to NRC policies, handbooks, guidelines and donor requirements

  • Prepare and submit reports and analysis

  • Ensure proper filing of all support documents

  • Support line managers in procedures and require support team trainings

  • Ensure that the accounting, monitoring and reporting are according to procedures

  • Support project staff in financial matters

    Specific responsibilities

  • Responsible for cash accounts as cash safe holder.

  • Check the NRC payroll and prepare the postback to post them in to Unit4/Agresso

  • Responsible to initiate the payment through banking system after bank payments are verified by FM

  • Responsible to generate the payment prove from banking system for each bank payments.

  • Arrange the supporting documents before pay out the cash and initiate the bank payments.

  • Prepare the weekly postback formats for cash and bank payments based on the supporting documents.

  • Responsible to prepare the Balance reconciliation statements of the balance accounts including bank and cash accounts.

  • Focal point for the finance filling tree of the voucher section.

  • Assist arranging vouchers for audit when required.

  • Support verifying partners expenses with supporting documents.

Competencies:

Generic professional competencies:

  • University degree in accounting, finance or equivalent is preferred
  • 2-3 years of experience as a Finance Coordinator in an INGO or humanitarian agency
  • Experience from working as a Finance Coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context.

  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.

  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities.
  • Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
  • Fluency in English, both written and verbal
  • Solid knowledge of computer software and modern accounting systems.

  • Ability to use MS office
