Major Responsibilities:

- Ensure compliance with IRC’s accounting policies and procedures, as well as generally accepted accounting principles and donor requirements, for both the office and donors. - Coordinate the implementation of IRC's internal control procedures to safeguard the organization's assets. - Support daily financial activities: - Resolve journal entry discrepancies. - Prepare, review, and approve journal entries/invoice journals, - Work with program and finance teams to ensure accurate disbursement of payments to clients - Coordinate prepaid card distribution procedures to active RCA caseload, including troubleshooting card anomalies or malfunctions - Assist in month-end/year-end closing tasks: - Prepare monthly billing with the review of account transactions to ensure accurate coding and completeness, - Reconcile accounts. - Prepare and submit financial reports and ensure the accuracy of financial transactions - Build and maintain a comprehensive understanding of donor policies, regulations, and procedures, and share this knowledge with the programs team. Serve as primary liaison between program and finance teams by fostering a culture of mutual respect and proactive communication. - Supervise RCA cash disbursement assistant and oversee prepaid card distribution to active RCA caseload - Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

- Formal accounting or bookkeeping training and/or coursework required; 4-year degree in related field strongly preferred - 3 + years of professional work experience with accounting and bookkeeping procedures and standards - Strong commitment to ensuring the success of the IRC mission while adhering to the values of service, accountability, integrity, and equality as defined in the IRC Way - Solid computer-based accounting skills, including spreadsheets and other financial related software programs - Proficient in general office software programs like MS Word, Excel, email, and internet - Proven track record to work as a team member in a cross-cultural environment - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Ability to prioritize and manage time effectively - Ability to optimally work with remote teams through telephone, email, videoconference, and other methods of correspondence - Fluency in English, written and spoken

Working Environment: Standard office work environment.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirement.
