Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified Finance Assistant to provide support to DRC Finance Department.
About the job:
Provide financial and administrative support to DRC Finance department Team as per DRC and donor regulations and procedures. This role has a base focus and ensures compliance to DRC procedures and guidelines at base level. The role contributes to the development of base strategies, which are translated into action plans and day-to-day tasks.
Responsibilities will be:
- Daily accounting (bookkeeping) according to DRC financial handbook
- Manage petty cash and clear cash advances upon request & prepare the month end Cash reconciliations.
- Maintain proper filing of all financial documentation (vouchers, contracts, tender documents, etc.)
- Cash Box counting according to the financial handbook
- Transferring payments when needed and follows up with partners’ reports
- Routine record keeping as per department work plan
- Correctly use DRC Dynamics functionalities in area of concern
- Maintain Payment Tracker
- Assist with Bank Follow up & Banking correspondence & Cash Withdrawals
- Assist with Cash Transfer Project
- Assist with collecting, reviewing, correcting and filing all financial progress reports from the partners
- Support financial report preparations
- Submit progress and status reports
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have the experience required for the job & would be willing to work as part of a team’ Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
Minimum 2 year of relevant work experience / Finance & Accounting
- Experience with carrying out admin tasks
- Good communication skills
- Advanced proficiency in Excel
- Basic proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Word
- Well-developed organizational and planning skills in order to meet deadlines
- Advanced English proficiency
Desiered
- Diploma or equivalent professional qualification “Finance & Accounting”
