Scope of work:

We are looking for a Finance Assistant who will Support the Finance Officer in managing all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the accounting department in the country office. The job holder will assist in implementing Finance policies, procedures, and internal systems. The selected candidate will undertake the responsibility of document collection, scanning, and filing.

Key responsibilities:

General accounting

1. Book keeping under supervision in the Greek ledger and cash expense transactions in a excel file.

2. Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial documents.

3. Collaborate with other IRC offices on gathering /sending needed documentation for the completion of the accounting entries.

Filing

1. Prior to filing ensure that all documents have been stamped 'PAID' including the any additional stamp or information that has to be filled in on specific documents.

2. Maintain an organized and well-documented (all files must be labeled properly and visibly) and sequential filing system for all cash / bank disbursement vouchers.

3. All files should be arranged in separately designated filing sites for cash, bank, and other documents

4. Archiving finance documents as instructed by the finance manager and finance officer.

Scanning

1. Scanning all files separately for payments via cash and bank, accounting notes, contracts for construction and services and other docs.

2. Creating relative on line category files in a share folder and placing all scans with a designated file name relative to each category.

Job Requirements

Education:

• BA or equivalent experience from a recognized College/Institution in Accounting/ Finance fields.

• Computer literate with experience in Microsoft Excel and Word.

• An accounting package knowledge will be an added advantage.

Desirable Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, fluent in written and spoken English.

• Strong interpersonal skills

• Attention to detail

• Good organizational skills.

• Ability to independently organize work, prioritize tasks and manage time.
