You have:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent in accounting or finance is required. An advanced degree is preferred.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience from an international NGO.
- Strong accounting skills and experience, including management of general ledger, journal entries, payroll, payables, and balance sheet.
- Advanced computer skills in MS Office programs, particularly Excel.
- Prior staff supervisory experience and strong organizational skills are desired.
- Excellent oral and written English skills.
- Previous knowledge of SUN system will be an advantage.

Working in coordination with the humanitarian community and the Government of Jordan, the IRC's assistance programs for children in Jordan include both camp-based (Zaatari, and Azraq camps) and urban-based refugee assistance (Mafraq, Ramtha, Irbid).
Job Overview/Summary ------------------------
The Finance Assistant performs the day-to-day finance operations. works with the Finance Officer and Senior Finance office r in the maintenance and oversight of the accounting operations to ensure that all finance operations in Amman office are performed in accordance with IRC and country office policy and procedures. The position is based in Amman, Jordan
Key responsibilities: -------------------------
Specific Responsibilities:
1. General Ledger Processing
- Payments review and process the transfers in Bank online website
- · Assist with making payments to suppliers, contractors and program staff based on approved documents and in line with authority delineation.
- Ensure all transactions follow IRC accounting policy, Donor restriction and generally accepted accounting principles.
- Maintain confidentiality of all financial and other job-related information.
- Ensure proper documentation and filing of all financial documents.
- Prepare and process day to day financial transactions and implement internal control procedures in keeping with IRC policies and procedures. - Be responsible for documentation, preparation of cash disbursement voucher for all cash transactions related to the station office - Data entry in the accounting software for monthly expenses/ payments and balance sheet accounts. - Generate accounting and financial report from SUN System needed for the monthly closing. - filling and focal point to scan all the documents in the finance department
2) Financial Management and Donor Reporting -----------------------------------------------
- Liaise with other Finance Staff to ensure timely record of expenses for Donor Interim and/or Final Financial Report’s. - Assist with support documents for Donor Reports scanning and filling.
3) Data Entry / Accounting Records --------------------------------------
- preapre expenditure spreadsheet - Maintain subsidiary ledgers for advances, receivables, and payables. - Process cash withdrawals from the bank and ensure timely bank payments - Prepare monthly bank reconciliation schedules.

Indirect/Technical Reporting: Senior finance officer
Position directly Supervises: N/A -------------------------------------
Key Internal Contacts: The Budget & Reporting Manager, Deputy Director of Finance, Grants Department, as well other Finance, Program and support unit staff.
Key External Contacts: External to the Country Office: The Regional Finance Director, Global Finance Director, UK Office, Germany Office, IRC’s Program Field Coordinators and Program & Finance staff in other IRC offices handled through IRC Jordan office.
Qualifications
