Overview

Perform financial reporting and budget management tasks

You have:

  • A high school diploma is required.
  • A diploma in finance, budget, Accounting, or a related discipline is desirable.
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in Accounting, Budget and Finance is required.
  • Experience in asset accounting is desirable.
  • Experience in Accounts payables and Receivables is desirable.
  • Fluency in oral and written English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official United Nations Secretariat language is an advantage.

Result of Service

• Issuance of the financial report and grant closures • Process of refunds to donors. • Donor reporting • Development of project budgets • Online staffing table maintained and updated with budget estimated for 2026-2027 • Human resource action completed

Duties and Responsibilities

Under direct supervision of the Head of the Transnational Organized Crime, Illicit Trafficking, and Terrorism Prevention Programmes (Programme Management Officer) and in close consultation with the Assistant Administrative Officer and the Programme Officer in the Transnational Organized Crime and Illicit Trafficking in Nairobi, the Individual contractor will perform the tasks aimed programme grant closure, facilitating refunds to the donors; asset accounting, donor reporting and project budgets.

Qualifications/special skills

A high school diploma is required. A diploma in finance, budget, Accounting, or a related discipline is desirable • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in Accounting, Budget and Finance is required. • Experience in asset accounting is desirable. • Experience in Accounts payables and Receivables is desirable. • English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations Secretariat language is an advantage
