This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.

The UNVMC is a Special Political Mission established by the United Nations Security Council through Resolution 2366 to verify the reintegration of FARC-EP into civilian life in economic, social and political matters and the security guarantees of former combatants, communities and organizations across the country. The Mission commenced operations on 26 September 2017, and in May 2021, the Security Council extended its mandate to verify compliance with the restorative sentences imposed by the Special Jurisdiction for Peace (SJP). Once again, in January 2023, the Security Council extended the Mission’s mandate to monitor the implementation of sections 1 and 6.2 of the Final Agreement.

Under the supervision of the Finance and Budget Officer, the UNV Finance and budget Assistant will support to the overall operations of the budget, finance, and accounts. Specifically, he/she will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: • Assist in the processing of all types of payment vouchers against commitment documents in ERP system after checking and review of the supporting documents; • Prepare of disbursement vouchers for vendor payments including Imprest Fund and Petty Cash replenishments; • Prepare various reports, information and presentation of the status of budget implementation of the Mission; • Prepare Bank Reconciliations; • Prepare cash remittance requests and processing payment transfers; • Participate in various working level meetings and take notes; • Draft various emails and short memos; participate in staff recruitment of the unit and write a report; • Perform basic desk research on finance and budget; • Perform other duties as required.

budget, finance and administration, particularly in processing payments; Experience in international organization such as the United Nations or other similar international organization is desirable. Experience in SAP such as ERP is desirable. Experience in data analytics and using ERP business Intelligence (BI) is desirable. Experience in report writing is desirable.

The city of Bogotá DC, according to the recent SRA prepared by UNDSS, meets a "low" level of risk to live and work. Presents some favorable conditions and secure lives for all officials. To its entry, all UN Volunteers receive a security briefing from the host agency security, which provides information on the security environment of the Duty Station and security measures to take into account. Although Colombia presents different levels of security, each one of them is found to carry out the mission, as well as supported through SRA where mitigation measures are exposed that may be required and those established by the MORSS.
