ABOUT THE JOB

Under the overall supervision of the Head of Support Services, and under the direct supervision of the Finance Manager the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for coordinating the Dynamics cleanup for DRC AFG Country Office and its Area-Offices

Responsibilities:

  • Ensuring All balance sheets including but not limited to (Vendor accounts, Intercompany accounts, Commitments, etc.) accounts are settled and cleared.
  • Ensuring Budgets, Proposals and forecasts are uploaded in DRC Dynamics in the correct way.
  • Evaluate the data and provide quality checks to ensure that accounting data is properly entered in ERP/Dynamics, in accordance with DRC financial rules and practices through the EOM process.
  • Support the Finance Manager and HoSS in preparing the annual master budget for the Country in DRC Dynamics, monitor budget control and analyze variances between budget and actual expenditures, and assist in the preparation of budgets for new programmes.
  • Make recommendations on procedural improvements and train national staff in the relevant areas of accounting and finance and DRC Dynamics.
  • Liaise with relevant units at HQ regarding the accounting and financial activities of the Country Office.
  • Review and ensure Finance KPIs in the SMT dashboard are clean and correct.
  • Perform such other related duties as may be assigned.

Experience and technical competencies:

  • At least five years’ experience in financial management, financial reporting, accounting, budgeting, and purchasing with INGO
  • Experience preparing reports, budgets, statistics, and coordinating administrative activities.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office products, specifically Excel, and good computer literacy skills required.
  • Knowledge of software (ERP/Dynamics) is a must.
  • Experience with international institutions and knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting

Education

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Management, or a related field from an accredited academic institution

Languages:

  • Excellent communication skills in English are required.
  • Understanding Dari/Pashto language is an advantage.
