Overview

Implement budgeting and reporting responsibilities effectively.

You have:

  • University degree in finance and/or business management
  • Experience from working as a Finance Coordinator or Advisor in a humanitarian/recovery context
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal
  • Advance MS Excel Skills
  • Strong financial and analytical skills
  • Experience in preparing budgets and budget monitoring reports
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principles and standards
  • Experience with ECHO, SIDA, NMFA, UNHCR, EU and other donors budgeting and reporting
  • Understanding and experience using Agresso/Unit4 or other ERPs/accounting software
  • Experience from large/complex or multi-applicant projects with stringent donor rules

Contract

This is a Professional contract, Grade 8 (NRC) contract. More about Professional contract, Grade 8 (NRC) contracts.

Your purpose as a Finance Adviser - Budgeting & Reporting is to implement delegated area of responsibility.

Your specific responsibilities

  • Work with managers on the development of budget proposals.
  • Established, in collaboration with the Finance Manager or Financial Controller, reports to donors
  • Maintain budgetary control, prepare budget Vs Actual reports and conduct meetings
  • Allocation of shared costs – Salaries, rent, vehicle rent etc.
  • Provides financial support and training in area offices
  • Assist in preparation and update Master Budget
  • Prepare financial analysis to management on costs – Master Budget Coverage etc.
  • Ensure the archiving of documents from the finance department, both electronic and physical

What you will bring:

  • Experience from working as a Finance Coordinator or Advisor in a humanitarian/recovery context or a similar role
  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
  • Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
  • Advance MS Excel Skills
  • Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and verbal

What we expect you to have:

  • Experience in preparing budgets and budget monitoring reports
  • Sound knowledge of accounting principle and standards

What We Offer

  • Only current employees are eligible for this posting
  • 6 months renewable fixed term contract subject to terms and conditions
  • This contract will be unaccompanied
  • Starting basic monthly pay is NOK 52,301 dependent on level of experience. If a national candidate is selected, the national salary scale will apply.
