FIELD FACILITATORS (ACCRA)

Overview

Facilitate and advance educational programs for children in urban districts of Accra

You have:

• Diploma or High National Diploma in Community Development, Development Studies, or Social Studies. A degree in Education is an advantage.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other ICT skills is required.
• Experience delivering Community Based Education (CBE) is desired.
• Skills in community organization and meeting facilitation are essential.
• Ability to work in a cross-cultural environment and with multi- and interdisciplinary teams is important.
• Must have a valid motorbike license and experience riding in rough terrain.
• Proficiency in reading and speaking any of the following languages: Akuapem Twi, Asanti Twi, Ewe, Dangme, Ga.
• Familiarity with the culture of project districts is necessary.
• Ability to speak the dominant language in the project district is required.
• Good communication skills are essential.
• Ability to work under little or no supervision for long hours is significant.
• Team player and forward-looking attitude are desirable.
• Teaching experience and accreditation in school leadership and teacher training are advantageous.
• Experience in inclusive education in the education sector in Ghana is a plus.
• Experience providing capacity building to Primary and Junior High School teachers is beneficial.
• Familiarity with primary teaching, pedagogy, and assessment frameworks is desired.
• Proven experience in curriculum design for English and Maths and gender-specific training is advantageous.
• Experience with the state education system/curricula in Ghana is beneficial.

THE OPPORTUNITY

Plan international Ghana is looking to employ the services of a highly skilled, experienced and qualified professional in the role of Field Education Facilitators for urban districts in Accra.

This position will help facilitate and advance Plan International’s engagement with target communities, program beneficiaries as well as key stakeholders.

ABOUT YOU

The Field Education Officer will work with stakeholders at the districts/municipal and community level to support the implementation of the Project’s activities to support learning outcomes for out of school and in-school student. The Field Education Officer will be responsible for coordinating quality programming and results, financial management and compliance, stakeholder and partner relations, and donor deliverables at community level.

He/she will coordinate the establishment of Accelerated Learning Programme and school Remedial sessions in the region. He/she is responsible for program planning, implementation, and reporting in compliance with donor and government agreements. The post-holder will be based in The post-holder will be based in Accra and travel to project communities where the project operates within urban districts in Greater Accra (Accra Metro, La Dadekotopon, Korle-Klottey, Ablekuma West, Ablekuma North, Okaikwei North, La Nkwantanang, Ayawaso East, Ayawaso West, Okaikwei South and Ga East) for approximately 90% of her/his time.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma/ High National Diploma (HND) in a relevant area e.g. Community Development, Development Studies, Social Studies. A degree in Education a relevant area would be an advantage
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and other ICT skills
• Previous experience delivering CBE
