Position Summary
The Field Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and ensuring effective implementation of programs and operational activities at the field level while ensuring compliance with logistics, human resources, administration, and security procedures.
The role represents Action Against Hunger with relevant stakeholders and supports implementation of country strategy while ensuring program quality, operational coordination, and effective team management.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Strategy Implementation
- Coordinate implementation of Action Against Hunger country strategy at field level
- Ensure effective program implementation aligned with work plans and technical guidance
- Monitor program progress and identify risks or delays
- Support proposal development and reporting activities
Operations Management
- Oversee field-level logistics, HR, and finance coordination
- Monitor compliance with organizational procedures
- Review operational reports and address gaps
- Support planning and management of support costs
Team Leadership & Coordination
- Supervise Program Managers and support function leads
- Support staff development and technical coordination
- Ensure communication between field offices and coordination teams
Security Management
- Monitor security context and support risk mitigation
- Coordinate with security leadership on operational decisions
- Ensure staff awareness of security procedures
Representation & Partnerships
- Represent Action Against Hunger with UN agencies, NGOs, and local authorities
- Participate in coordination forums and humanitarian networks
- Support partnership development at field level
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role supervises Program Managers and field-level support teams including logistics, HR, and finance leads.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in development, humanitarian studies, or a related field required
- Minimum 5 years of INGO experience in a management role required
- Experience managing humanitarian or nutrition programs required
- Experience working in complex or hardship environments required
- Strong planning and budgeting skills required
- Fluency in English required
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree preferred
- Previous Action Against Hunger experience
- Experience working in South Sudan or similar contexts
- Knowledge of Arabic considered an asset
