Field coordinator
Purpose of the Consultancy
The main objective is to support the East Jerusalem Hospitals in addition to hospitals in the west bank through contracting a field coordinator.
Background
A field coordinator – who will mainly help in collecting data, coordinate activities for WHO, help in monitoring of activities, and directly follow up with site hospitals to make sure visibility requirements are adhered to.
The main hospital under concern is Al-Makassed Hospital; Other partners include Palestinian Medical Relief Society. Work will include other hospitals in the West Bank and East Jerusalem upon need.
This activity is related to WHO’s ongoing work on strengthening the East Jerusalem Hospitals under health systems strengthening which is considered as a core activity. It is also related to the trauma and emergency care project.
Planned timelines
Start date: 10/7/2022
End date: 09/7/2023
Work to be performed
Output 1: Report on data collected (trauma, advocacy, service utilization) as requested by WHO.
Activity 1.1: Collect and report data (trauma, advocacy, service utilization) on regular basis from key hospital service providers in East Jerusalem and the West Bank
Activity 1.2: Draft summary report that includes tabular representation.
Activity 1.3: Develop analysis and aggregated monthly reports from the collected data.
Output 2****: Field visits Report
Activity 2.1: Conduct field visits to monitor and evaluate the implementation of WHO’s activities for community support, prehospital and hospital services. The visits will be for partners and beneficiaries in the West Bank and Jerusalem
Activity 2.2: Submit a monitoring report following each monitoring visit.
Activity 2.3: Coordinate between WHO procurement department and the hospitals to deliver needs and to confirm specifications as required.
Output 3****: Adherence to donor visibility requirements
Activity 3.1: Coordinate WHO and East Jerusalem Hospitals Network EJHN, , media events preparation in collaboration with WHO .
Activity 3.2: Ensure WHO’s and donors’ visibility requirements on in-kind donations and during the implementation of activities is adhered to.
Deliverable
Deliverable 1:Data collection reports on trauma, advocacy, service utilization from the designated hospitals/partners.
Deliverable 2: Write monthly data aggregated reports.
Deliverable 3: Develop analysis of needs from hospitals
Deliverable 4: Draft Field visibility reports.
Specific requirements
- Qualifications required:
Required: First degree in public health in public health management, social sciences, international or public relations.
Desirable: Advanced university degree for mid and high end of range in public health.
- Experience required:
At least 1 year of experience with the East Jerusalem Hospitals Network and the health sector.
Skills / Technical skills and knowledge:
- Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated ability to work in multicultural settings and excellent inter-personal skills.
- Very good reporting skills
- Team player
Very Good communication skills
Language requirements:
• Essential: Expert knowledge of English, and Arabic.
• Desirable: other UN language.
Place of assignment
WHO Jerusalem office
Medical clearance
The selected Consultant will be expected to provide a medical certificate of fitness for work.
Travel
No travel required abroad, only in oPt and Gaza.
All travel arrangements will be made by WHO – WHO will not be responsible for tickets purchased by the Consultant without the express, prior authorization of WHO. While on mission under the terms of this consultancy, the Consultant will receive subsistence allowance.
Visas requirements: it is the consultant’s responsibility to fulfil visa requirements and ask for visa support letter(s) if needed.
