The Caseworker provides trauma-informed services to refugees and other qualified immigrants to assist them in achieving stability and moving toward healthy integration. The Caseworker works closely with clients in the Family Support program, which provides additional support to families with children in the home who may need focused case management services to achieve initial stability as part of the Kentucky Office for Refugees (KOR) Wilson-Fish TANF Case Management program. The Caseworker will also work closely and cooperatively with other IRC colleagues and external parties to meet individual client needs and preferences using a broad range of financial, medical, social, vocational, and other services and resources in accordance with client eligibility and Wilson-Fish TANF Case Management program requirements.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Evaluating client eligibility for the Family Support program and enrolling interested, qualified clients into the program - Conduct initial needs assessments and build individualized service plans for all members of the family enrolled - Assess and monitor client progress to support achievement of established goals, address challenges, and to ensure that available resources are appropriately used - Ensure program requirements are met, including completion of all required documentation and case noting, case file maintenance, and timely delivery of required services - Collaborate with R&P Caseworkers ensuring all initial resettlement services are delivered to enrolled clients - Collaborate with colleagues and external service providers to develop and maintain relationships for the benefit of clients - Participate in regular trainings and communities of practice to remain up to date on program and policy developments relevant to delivery of client services and program compliance - Represent IRC in meetings with other Wilson-Fish TANF Case Management providers, KOR, and the KY Department for Community Based Services - May train and lead activities for volunteers and/or interns

Job Requirements:

Education:

- High school diploma or equivalent required - Bachelor’s degree in human services related field or equivalent human services work experience preferred

Work Experience:

- 2 years’ experience (including internship experience) in human service field preferred - Experience working with refugee and/or immigrant populations preferred

Demonstrated Skills & Competencies:

- Strong digital literacy, including the use of internet search tools, intranet, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), and client management database - Valid driver’s license and vehicle insurance to drive IRC vehicles and transport clients, as well as access to reliable transportation to allow travel to field locations - Fluent spoken and written English, with the ability to record case notes and complete reports in written English - Comfortable working in a cross-cultural environment and with English language learners, sometimes with little or no English proficiency - Proven success working and communicating effectively in a multicultural environment - Ability to take initiative and work independently on projects - Attention to detail and accuracy in work product - Excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to multi-task, prioritize duties, and manage time effectively - Proficiency in language(s) spoken by IRC clients is desired, including Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, Burmese

Working Environment:

- A combination of standard office environment and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outline responsibilities. - Work hours are generally 9:00am to 5:00pm, with a consistent three days per week preferred. Requires schedule flexibility and occasional weekend and/or evening work.

Compensation: Posted pay ranges apply to US-based candidates. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
