You have:
- Must pass a background check
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Minimum commitment of 15 hours per week for a minimum of 3 consecutive months

- Valid driver's license, reliable access to an insured vehicle
SCOPE OF IMMIGRANT YOUTH CASEWORK INTERN WORK: The Immigrant Youth Casework Intern will support out Miami-Dade-based Immigrant Youth team in delivering essential services to immigrant children and their families. Key responsibilities include identifying and connecting clients with community resources to enhance self-sufficiency, as well as participating in community awareness and outreach initiatives. The position may require travel within the Miami-Dade region. Please note that all internship positions are unpaid, and we are currently considering candidates in South Florida only.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
- The intern will gain knowledge of solution-oriented, strengths-based care coordination for immigrant families. - The intern will develop skills in trauma-informed, client-centered care. - The intern will develop skills in mapping community assets and resources. - The intern will develop skills in client empowerment and advocacy.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide assistance to caseworkers serving children and their families by helping them with school enrollment, public benefits applications, making referrals, and client advocacy. - Assist with research on local community resources. - Assist with outreach to local organizations to help establish partnerships within the community. - Carry out administrative duties including data entry, filing, and labeling - Assist with managing client case notes and files - Communicate case statuses and client concerns to supervisor, coordinate service plans with supervisor
Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent communication and writing skills - Organized with attention to detail - Able to work independently and under pressure - An interest in international issues - Strong desire to help people and enthusiasm for working in a multi-cultural setting - Computer literacy – preferably with PC systems - Access to internet - Valid driver’s license, reliable access to an insured vehicle.

This will be an in-person role.
This position will report to the Immigrant Youth Program Coordinator and Immigrant Youth Caseworker.
