You have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Community Development or a related field.
  • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in Faith & Development, church engagement, community development, theology-informed development practice or related NGO programming.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, documentation, facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated commitment to child safeguarding, child protection, non-discrimination and child safe organization practices.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Ability to communicate in local languages relevant to assigned project locations is an advantage.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time to support implementation, training, monitoring and partner engagement.

The Sector Project Officer - Faith & Development supports the Programme Manager to coordinate, implement, monitor and report Faith & Development activities across assigned project locations. The role integrates faith-sensitive approaches and approved F&D models into CARE, LEARN and other IPF activities; strengthens staff spiritual formation, church and interfaith partnerships, child well-being advocacy, safeguarding, learning and documentation; and builds the capacity of Area Programme teams, faith leaders and partners to address harmful norms, reinforce positive values and promote the fullness of life for vulnerable children.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Design, Planning, Implementation and Faith Integration Quality Assurance:

  • Support the Programme Manager to translate World Vision Ghana strategy and IPF priorities into Faith & Development work plans, detailed implementation plans, budgets and activity schedules for assigned locations.
  • Coordinate day-to-day implementation of approved Faith & Development activities within agreed scope, budget, timeframe, safeguarding standards and quality requirements.
  • • Support integration of approved Faith & Development models, including Channels of Hope, Empowered Worldview, Celebrating Families and Spiritual Nurturing of Children, across CARE, LEARN and other sector interventions.
  • • Provide technical follow-up, coaching and field support to Area Programme teams, Sector Project Officers, faith leaders, volunteers and partners on contextual application of Faith & Development approaches.
  • • Contribute to needs assessments, programme reviews, proposal inputs and contextual adaptation of Faith & Development approaches to address harmful norms and root causes of child vulnerability.
  • • Monitor implementation quality, identify operational risks and gaps, and escalate issues requiring management or technical decisions.

Staff Spiritual Formation, Christian Identity and F&D Capacity Strengthening:

  • • Promote World Vision's Christian identity, mission, vision, core values and guiding beliefs with humility, respect and consistency across assigned locations.
  • • Coordinate staff spiritual formation activities, including devotions, prayer meetings, retreats, Easter and Christmas services, Day of Prayer observances and approved faith-based engagement platforms.
  • • Facilitate access to approved spiritual formation materials, tools and resources for staff, line managers and Area Programme teams.
  • • Support orientation of new staff on World Vision's Christian identity, mission, Faith & Development policies, Mission Immersion and relevant F&D competencies.
  • • Mobilize prayer and faith engagement activities involving staff, children, caregivers and faith leaders in line with organizational guidance.
  • • Work with People & Culture, Staff Care and safeguarding focal points to refer staff care or psychosocial support needs to certified or mandated personnel where required.
  • • Encourage Area Programme teams to model Christian witness, child well-being, dignity, inclusion, accountability and servant leadership.

Church Partnership, Interfaith Collaboration, Community Mobilization and Advocacy:

  • • Build, nurture and coordinate relationships with churches, Christian networks, ecumenical bodies, faith-based organizations, interfaith actors and community structures.
  • • Mobilize faith leaders and institutions to promote child well-being, positive norms, safeguarding, social cohesion, inclusion and support for the most vulnerable children.
  • • Coordinate meetings, consultations, trainings and follow-up engagements with church leaders, faith partners, Local Churches/Communities of Care and community groups.
  • • Support Area Programme teams and Sector Project Officers to identify and engage faith partners for joint action, prayer campaigns, advocacy, social accountability and community transformation.
  • • Ensure faith partnerships align with World Vision's policies on Christian witness, church partnerships, faith-sensitive programming, safeguarding and non-discrimination.
  • • Track partner commitments, meeting actions, feedback, documentation and follow-up with faith networks and institutions.

Reporting, Documentation, DMEAL, Learning and Knowledge Management:

  • • Prepare and consolidate Faith & Development inputs for monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual and donor reporting requirements.
  • • Collect, validate and track Faith & Development outputs, outcomes, stories, partner feedback and evidence of change from assigned project locations.
  • • Support data entry, tracking and reporting in Horizon, IMPAQ and other approved monitoring systems as required.
  • • Work with DMEAL and Communications teams to document success stories, testimonies, case studies, lessons learned and evidence of Faith & Development's contribution to child well-being.
  • • Participate in monitoring visits, learning reviews, programme reflections, assessments, proposal inputs and technical reports as assigned.
  • • Maintain organized Faith & Development records, training reports, participant lists, resource repositories and field documentation.
  • • Support community feedback and accountability mechanisms and ensure relevant learning is used to improve implementation.

Coordination, Compliance, Resource Acquisition and Operational Support:

  • • Provide administrative and logistical support for Faith & Development meetings, trainings, workshops, partner engagements, staff formation activities and events.
  • • Support work planning, budgeting, activity scheduling, procurement requests, payment follow-up and implementation tracking in line with organizational procedures.
  • • Monitor adherence to relevant Faith & Development policies, safeguarding requirements, risk management standards, donor requirements and approved implementation guidance.
  • • Contribute field evidence and Faith & Development inputs to concept notes, proposals, briefing notes, presentations, internal memos and planning documents.
  • • Coordinate with the Programme Manager, technical leads and Sector Project Officers to integrate Faith & Development actions into grants, PNS and IPF plans.
  • • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor in response to ministry priorities and operational needs.

Key Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in Theology, Religious Studies, Development Studies, Social Sciences, Community Development or a related field. Training in theology, ministry, Christian counselling, Faith & Development models, facilitation, safeguarding, project management, DMEAL or psychosocial support is an added advantage.
  • • At least three (3) years of relevant experience in Faith & Development, church engagement, community development, theology-informed development practice or related NGO programming.
  • • Experience supporting project implementation, activity planning, partner coordination, capacity building, training facilitation, monitoring and reporting across field locations.
  • • Demonstrated understanding of working with churches, faith leaders, faith-based organizations and interfaith structures in child-focused development programming.
  • • Ability to work effectively in diverse cultural, denominational and interfaith contexts with maturity, respect, sound judgement and sensitivity.
  • • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing, documentation, facilitation and stakeholder engagement.
  • • Demonstrated commitment to child safeguarding, child protection, non-discrimination and child safe organization practices.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
  • Ability to communicate in local languages relevant to assigned project locations is an advantage.
  • Work Environment: Office-based with frequent travel to assigned project locations, Area Programmes, churches, partner offices and communities.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 50% of the time to support implementation, training, monitoring and partner engagement.
  • Position’s Physical Requirements
  • Ability to travel to rural and hard-to-reach communities and facilitate meetings, trainings, devotions, workshops, monitoring visits and partner engagements in varied field settings.

Preferred Experience, Knowledge and/or other Qualifications

  • • Working knowledge of World Vision Faith & Development models, competencies and policies, including Channels of Hope, Empowered Worldview, Celebrating Families and Spiritual Nurturing of Children.
  • • Good understanding of NGO operations, programme cycle management, proposal development, grants/PNS implementation, partnership management and reporting systems.
  • • Ability to train or co-facilitate training for staff, faith leaders, volunteers, partners, caregivers and community groups.
  • • Experience in church partnership, interfaith engagement, spiritual formation, faith-sensitive programming, child protection, safeguarding and community mobilization.
  • • Ability to prepare implementation plans, budgets, training materials, reports, concept notes, presentations and documentation products.
  • • Competence in Microsoft Office, Outlook 365, Microsoft Teams, Zoom and digital reporting or monitoring tools such as Horizon/IMPAQ.
  • • Strong interpersonal, facilitation, coaching, networking and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
