Result of Service Enhanced team cohesion and collaboration in the delivery of the priorities of the UNRCO Vietnam and UNCT Vietnam

Duties and Responsibilities The facilitator will design, support and facilitate the in-person retreats for the UNRCO and UNCT with the following objectives: 1. Addressing at the retreat and proposing a mechanism/working method to ensure the implementation of measures identified as priorities regarding leadership, communications, trust and inter-personal issues; 2. Strengthening the team spirit among colleagues through innovation, teambuilding and maintaining a conducive working environment (stress management, ethics in the workplace and trust-building). 3. Assist the RCO and UNCT in planning the priorities for the year ahead in 2023 and strategies to deliver on those priorities

Specific tasks: - Design and detailed programmes of the RCO and UNCT Retreats (before 5 October 2022) - Facilitation conducted at the RCO and UNCT Retreats, report prepared including analysis of feedback from the sessions (by 30 October 2022) - Follow-up learning sessions designed and conducted (by 31 December 2022)

Methodology and Approach: The facilitator will help draw from a number of approaches in line with Awareness Based Systems Change. These include Theory U, Foresight approaches and Systems Thinking approaches. Such methodologies would help us address the most pressing global challenges of our time: climate change, food systems, inequality and exclusion, finance, healthcare and education. The design for the days will draw upon action research and global best practices while being highly customized and participative. It focuses on building essential leadership capacities of systems thinking, deep listening, collaboration across boundaries and social innovation. It will also be beneficial to introduce and apply foresight practices. The objective would be to expand and reframe the range of plausible futures that need to be taken into consideration. And to build the capacity to respond in each moment to the future that is arriving.

Qualifications/special skills Competency: o In-depth understanding and proven expertise in building capabilities for transformational leadership, applying awareness-based systems change approaches and developing action-learning programmes on the SDGs o Understanding of UN Development System and previous work with UNCTs preferred Academic Qualifications: A bachelors degree is required. A Masters degree is desirable. Additional years of professional experience is acceptable in lieu of a Masters degree Experience: At least 10 years experience in designing and facilitating organization-based learning and behaviour-change in a multi-cultural and multilateral setting Language: Excellent English skills

Additional Information Background and Context The 2022 RCO and UNCT Annual Retreats are organized under the guidance of the UN Resident Coordinator. To better support the attainment of desired outputs, the RCO and UNCT have agreed to contract an experienced external facilitator.

This is an important time to come together for the RCO and the UNCT in their respective retreat for several reasons, including: - Several years of responding to COVID-19 - Launch of the new UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework for 2022-2026 - Arrival of the new Resident Coordinator
