The [facilitators’ network](https://ich.unesco.org/en/facilitator) is a dedicated and competent partner to support the Secretariat in implementing the Programme at national level and for countries seeking guidance and training on safeguarding intangible cultural heritage. Since 2011, the facilitators network has grown to count more than 140 individual resource persons in intangible cultural heritage from more than 70 countries (47% women, 35% Africa). The skills and competencies of its members are regularly updated by the Secretariat through workshops, mentoring, information sharing and review meetings. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many training and networking opportunities for facilitators have been disrupted. Feedback from previous meetings of the facilitators’ network have underscored the importance of knowledge and experience sharing within the network and desire for more opportunities to reflect on thematic areas and global trends. The present webinar series will provide opportunities for facilitators to share their knowledge and experience in different areas of relevance to the Convention’s implementation through online meetings. The series will include four 2-hour webinars to take place in 2021 with the aim to address the specific needs of network members to better support them in their role as facilitators for the 2003 Convention. More specifically, the objectives of the webinar series will be to: Long Description ---------------- - Provide opportunities for networking, peer-to-peer learning and exchange of experiences among different regional chapters of the network; - Share updates and information on the 2003 Convention and its capacity-building programme including new training materials; and - Build facilitators' knowledge and skills in key thematic areas for the implementation of the Convention and its capacity-building programme. In this context, UNESCO is launching a call for application to select a facilitator to lead the first online meeting in the series. Each meeting will be organized around a specific theme and will include a short presentation by the lead facilitator, followed by discussion around key issues. The first meeting, planned to take place in March 2021, will address the topic of **online facilitation and learning approaches for delivering the global capacity-building programme**. Webinar participants will include members of the facilitators network, and other identified experts and persons of interest upon invitation (UNESCO Secretariat, Field Offices, Category 2 Centres, UNESCO Chairs). The working language for the meeting will be English and French with interpretation. The modality for the meeting will be the Zoom platform.
