Overview

Develop methodology and facilitate leadership dialogues

You have:

  • Advanced university degree (Master or equivalent) in gender studies, psychology, anthropology, international relations, social sciences, political sciences or related area.
  • First-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) with combination of two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in Engaging Men and Boys and Positive Masculinities within the humanitarian or development sector is required.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring male leaders on issues related to masculinity, creating inclusive workplace culture, accountability, gender equality and social awareness is required.
  • Experience in coaching and mentoring mid-level and senior staff in humanitarian or development contexts is highly desirable.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching staff on inclusive leadership and positive masculinities in the Middle East context is highly desirable.
  • Experience in mentoring and coaching UN staff is an asset.
  • Fluency in Arabic is required.
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.

Result of Service Development of the methodology, detailed workplan and proposed assessment methodology. Delivery of the first round of dialogues with UNRWA leadership in five locations. Delivery of the second and third round of dialogues; mid term debriefing. Delivery of the fourth and fifth round of dialogues; submission of the final report

Work Location UNRWA HQ(A).

Expected duration The duration of the consultancy is 11 months from the start date. Remuneration will be calculated for a total payment of $10,000.000. Payment will be made in three instalments.

Duties and Responsibilities- Developing a detailed plan, including the methodology, objectives, themes/topics for each quarterly dialogue and detailed schedule indicating the modality (in person; online). - Developing the assessment methodology to measure the results and impact of the dialogues,. - Facilitating dialogues with UNRWA leadership in five areas of operation (Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Gaza and West Bank) using a mixed modality - in person and online sessions until end of Sep 2024. - Conducting an impact assessment using the methodology agreed with UNRWA. - Preparation of the midterm and final reports which document the process, including applied methodology, key findings and lessons, results and impact of the leadership dialogues. - Coordinating with the Gender section in UNRWA Headquarters to facilitate the implementation of the assignment.
