The Private Sector Fundraising and Partnerships (PSFP) Plan for 2018-2023 sets out the results and strategies that UNICEF will pursue to maximize resources and leverage the influence of the private sector. UNICEF Bulgaria’s fundraising strategy is focused on two main income streams from the private sector –monthly individual giving and corporate partnerships with higher income potential. In 2018 the Country Office (CO) successfully launched a face-to-face fundraising program for recruitment of new individual monthly (pledge) donors via automated SMS mechanism in order to ensure income growth, sustainable resources and increase of the individual supporters’ file.

How can you make a difference?

UNICEF Bulgaria is seeking a highly motivated Face-to-Face Fundraising Coordinator to contribute to the successful implementation of the private sector fundraising strategy in Bulgaria.

The Consultant will lead the coordination of a face-to-face fundraising program for individual pledge donations – Champions for Children.

The Coordinator will be part of the Fundraising team and will work under the direct supervision of the Fundraising Officer - Individual Giving and the Fundraising Associate - Individual Giving.

In 2018 the Country Office successfully launched an in-house face-to-face fundraising program for acquisition of new individual monthly donors and will further expand it in 2021 and 2022.

What is Face to Face fundraising?

Face to Face (F2F) fundraising covers the following main techniques, all of which are used by UNICEF:

· Street fundraising, where the public is approached in the street by trained, branded fundraisers who solicit pledge donations.

· Mall/event fundraising (also known as private site fundraising), where the approach is as above but the location is different. Often, when working in these locations, display stands/exhibitions will be used to show more of UNICEF's work to the public.

· Business to business (B2B), whereby fundraisers go into the place of work of corporate partners to solicit donations from employees.

Specific tasks of the assignment:

1. Face-to-Face program coordination.

· Support planning and monitoring of the face-to-face program. Assist the preparation of annual action plan for face-to-face fundraising in cooperation with Individual Giving Officer;

· Support the monitoring of the program income and expenditures on monthly basis. Prepare weekly and monthly finance and evaluation reports against set KPIs, identify steps and measures for improvement when necessary;

· Monitor the performance of the fundraisers and their individual financial results on a weekly and monthly basis.

2. Coordination and monitoring of the Face-to-Face team.

· Join the facer teams in the street on a daily basis; monitoring, guiding, advising and improving their performance;

· Prepare working schedule on a weekly basis and distribute it to the fundraisers;

· Makes sure all necessary equipment and communication materials for the face-to-face campaign is distributed to the specific locations and collected in UNICEF’s office on a daily basis;

· Organize weekly team meetings to discuss overall performance, results and goals.

3. Recruitment of fundraisers.

· Conducts in-house monthly recruitment of new fundraisers: job promotion, pre-selection, group interviews, evaluation.

4. Training and retention of fundraisers.

· Organize and conduct theoretical and practical induction training for new fundraisers and team leaders;

· Motivate team members, create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture.

5. Partnerships’ building.

· Negotiate pro-bono space for the face-to-face campaign and establish long-term partnerships with shopping malls, business centres, event organizers and others.tively searches and identifies new private sites (shopping malls, business buildings) for indoor fundraising.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

· University degree in communication, marketing, humanities or a related field.

· At least three years’ professional experience in event management, communications and marketing;

· Proven work experience as a team leader or supervisor;

· Excellent communication and presentation skills;

· Excellent leadership skills;

· Advanced organizational and time-management skills;

· Flexible, proactive and creative person;

· Results oriented;

· Analytical thinking;

· Fluency in Bulgarian language is a must and fluency in English, both written and spoken is required;

· Previous experience in private sector fundraising, face-to-face or in corporate social responsibility will be a strong asset.

The work assignment will be conducted for an initial period of 6 months with a possibility for extension upon satisfactory work performance.

The consultant will have flexible working arrangement - 40 working hours per week inside and outside UNICEF’s office premises. The consultant should be able to work from home and work during weekends will be required.
