Face-to-face fundraising has been identified as a central technique for pledge acquisition and the office has secured a significant growth of pledge income through this channel in the last three years. The plan for the further growth is based on the opportunities enabled through a larger and stronger team of individual contractors engaged in face to face recruitment (‘facers’).

Individual contractors - facers are expected to be present around the UNICEF branded stands or without the stand in UNICEF uniform, to approach people, presenting them UNICEF’s work and convincing them to sign the standing order forms for pledge to UNICEF Serbia. A facer will be engaged upon completion of the recruitment and on-the-job training period. Facers are obliged to participate in education that lasts for 4 days, 5-6 hours per day. The on-the-job training period will consist of 50 working hours and a minimum of 15 valid contracts collected and confirmed within the respective period (a sign-up/hour of 0.3).

Facers are required to work 5 working hours per day and minimum 3 days per week. They are expected to be able to convey the message of UNICEF’s programme activities and provide effective communication of the importance of sustainable funding through the private sector (regular donors) for programme implementation and its positive impact on organizational costs, and to represent UNICEF in a professional manner.

Tasks:

  1. Represent UNICEF, its vision and mission in a professional manner
  2. Convey the message of UNICEF programme activities and provide effective communication of the importance of sustainable funding through the private sector (regular donors) for programme implementation and its positive impact on organizational costs
  3. Recruit regular donors through the face to face channel by mobilization of individual citizens to sign the standing order form
  4. Collect and handle sensitive donor information with the highest regard for confidentiality and information security
  5. Follow instructions and procedures on how work is to be delivered; report and communicate all relevant information to the Team Leader
  6. If needed, work in the office on administrative tasks as support to the project(in this case, the Facer will be paid 300 RSD per hour)
  7. Conduct continuous research and updating of knowledge through UNICEF website, social networking platforms, quarterly newsletters and through attendance at facers’ meetings

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills required:

  • Secondary school degree
  • Understanding of UNICEF brand and general knowledge of UNICEF activities
  • Understanding of marketing with an ethical approach
  • Good communication and strong interpersonal skills
  • Approachable, outgoing and resourceful personality
  • A high level of adaptability as a team member
  • Ability of adjustment in new surroundings and circumstances
  • Eagerness to learn
  • Fluency in Serbian and a solid knowledge of English
