How can you make a difference?

Under the general guidance and direct supervision of the Immunization Manager, P4, (64910), the Health Officer is accountable for EPI programme planning and implementation in coordination with Health Specialists (Supply Chain and UCI). This will be done through providing timely and effective expert advice, guidance and input on situation analysis, programme strategy, alternative approaches and optimal utilization of resources.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

• A University degree in one of the following fields is required: public health/nutrition, pediatric health, family health, health research, global/international health, health policy and/or management, environmental health sciences, biostatistics, socio-medical, health education, epidemiology, or another relevant technical field.
• A minimum of two years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: public health/nutrition planning and management, maternal and neonatal health care, or health emergency/humanitarian preparedness.
• Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or INGO organization is considered as an asset.
• Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.

Selection Criteria:

The selection criteria are the knowledge, abilities, skills and personal attributes that will be used to determine whether or not a candidate is able to perform the job successfully.

Selection criteria are:

• A University degree in one of the following fields is required: public health/nutrition, pediatric health, family health, health research, global/international health, health policy and/or management, environmental health sciences, biostatistics, socio-medical, health education, epidemiology, or another relevant technical field.
• A minimum of two years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas is required: public health/nutrition planning and management, maternal and neonatal health care, or health emergency/humanitarian preparedness.
• Relevant experience in a UN system agency or INGO organization is considered as an asset
• Working experience at national level with government/ UN partners/ INGO partners
• Immunization/COVAX vaccination program experience is an advantage
• Led or substantially contributed to development of Health technical guidelines or donor proposal /report is an asset.
• Working Experience of Cold chain and vaccine management is an asset
