Result of Service The report should contain a review of most recent information on the topic supplemented with references to past and ongoing studies. It can aslo include own data and unpublished data of other experts.

Duties and Responsibilities The expert should draft a chapter on using dogs in assessment studies and bat conservation for the planned update of the EUROBATS Guidelines on Bat Monitoring Methods to Assess Population Trends at Different Levels. The chapter should include a review of available scientific literature in English and German, non-peer-reviewed reports and own expertise in this matter.

Qualifications/special skills Academic Qualifications: Applicants must have an academic degree (bachelor or higher) in biology or ecology Experience: Applicants must have at least 3 years of experience in training of conservation-detection dogs with a specific purpose to search for bats or their droppings Language: Good command of the English language sufficient for writing a report is the mandatory condition. Knowledge of the German language is an advantage for reviewing the literature.
