The volunteers will support the six-week Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on Green Entrepreneurship as expert facilitators. They will serve as subject matter experts who will address participants' comments and questions on online forums in the course room, ignite productive conversations, and create engaging discussion spaces around the topic of developing and implementing a green business idea. The volunteers will be engaged in the facilitation of the course forums from 26 October to 18 December 2020. During this period, they will monitor the forums daily (approx. 1 hour per day except weekends), and respond to users' questions and comments. They will attend an orientation call with the course coordinator the week of 19 October, and will be asked to share a weekly status update over email throughout the course. After the course, they will be invited to a debrief call with the course coordinator to share their experience of interacting with the course participants.

    The United Nations Development Programme, in collaboration with partners, is offering a free Massive Online Open Course (MOOC) on Green Entrepreneurship: https://www.learningfornature.org/en/courses/green-entrepreneurship/. This six-week course will guide participants through their green entrepreneur journey, from defining their idea to the commercialisation of their products and services. The course will be facilitated in English, and will run from 2 November 2020 to 11 December 2020. The course will be hosted on UNDP's e-learning platform, Learning for Nature, and will cover the following topics: Week 1: Introduction to Green Entrepreneurship and Sketching Out Your Green Business Idea; Week 2: Making a Positive Impact with your Green Business Idea; Week 3: Identifying your Customers and Stakeholders; Week 4: Putting your Green Business Model into Context; Week 5: Financing your Green Business Idea; Week 6: Managing, Scaling Up and Communicating your Green Business Idea. Participants will be invited to discuss the information in the course with the course experts on the forums. The volunteers will serve as the course experts on the discussion forums.

  • 6-10 hours per week / 8 weeks

    The volunteers should have a background in green entrepreneurship. Practical experience in setting up their own green business is an advantage. The volunteers should be responsive and willing to monitor the forums and respond to user questions and comments daily (approximately 1 hour per day) throughout the course. The volunteers should be used to working in a digital environment following the best practices of digital communication. Fluency in English is required.
