Under the overall authority of the Director of IIEP and immediate supervision of the Head of Office of IIEP Buenos Aires, and within the framework of IIEP’s mandate and Medium-Term Strategy, the incumbent will support the Head of Office of IIEP Buenos Aires in strategic planning and assist in the monitoring of the project portfolio. He or she in collaboration with the Administration Officer will supervise the application of established project planning procedures and coordinate the definition of standard procedures for projects as necessary. The incumbent will collect project information, including Key Performance Indicators, and coordinate the reporting of project results for institutional presentations and briefings. He or she will guide and support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation of IIEP BA projects in all lines of work. The incumbent will also coordinate and implement the IIEP BA internship programme. **OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST** ----------------------------------------- **1. Support the Head of Office of IIEP Buenos Aires in strategic planning:** - Review and advise on the alignment of activities with IIEP’s Medium Term Strategy and the specific goals of IIEP Buenos Aires, in the context of the E-2030 agenda and in line with the needs of the UNESCO Member States of Latin America. - Assist the monitoring of the project portfolio by participating in project meetings, maintaining an overview of project activities and reviewing project proposals and progress. - Contribute to the identification of and exchange with potential new partners and funders, and draft substantive documents and communications to support these activities. - Advance and review the incorporation of a gender perspective into the work of IIEP Buenos Aires. - Contribute to the development and implementation of team management strategies, foster teamwork and internal communication. **2. Supervise the implementation of project planning procedures:** - In collaboration with the Administration Officer, supervise the application of established project planning procedures and make recommendations for their improvement as necessary. - Coordinate the definition of standard procedures for projects as necessary. - Monitor the quality of project information in the Project and Portfolio Management (PPM), supervise its timely updating and provide support to team members if necessary. - Identify problems in the PPM and specific requirements of IIEP Buenos Aires and liaise with Paris and Dakar in order to implement necessary adaptations. **3. Implement project reporting and accountability activities:** - Collect project information, including Key Performance Indicators, and coordinate the reporting of project results for the Governing Board, elaborating the annual GB4 documents. - In collaboration with the Communication Officer, design the annual presentations of the Head of Office to the GB and UNESCO’s GRULAC. - In relation to all the above tasks, maintain smooth communication and exchange with IIEP Offices in Paris and Dakar. - Provide the Communication Officer with information that will be used to prepare the annual report of activities in English and Spanish. - Compile other reports on IIEP Buenos Aires projects and progress as required by IIEP Paris and UNESCO Headquarters. **4. Guide and support the implementation of monitoring and evaluation of IIEP BA projects:** - Identify and propose adaptations of the Institute´s Monitoring and Evaluation Plan to suit the needs of IIEP Buenos Aires projects and processes. - Supervise the implementation of monitoring and evaluation activities in all lines of work, and assist where necessary in the analysis of results, supervising consultants where necessary. **5. Provide academic input to the preparation of conference participations of the Head of Office.** **6.
