Overview

Provide high-level executive and operational support for UNICEF.

You have:

  • Completion of secondary education is required, preferably supplemented by technical or university courses related to administration, management, or a related field.
  • A minimum of six (6) years of relevant administrative, executive support, or clerical experience, preferably supporting senior-level managers.
  • Fluency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required.
  • Knowledge of other local languages, such as Mandarin, Tamil, and Hokkien, is considered an asset, as is knowledge of another official UN language.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks proactively and anticipate needs.
  • Proven ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion, diplomacy, and sound judgement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage professionally with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including tact, diplomacy, and the ability to represent the supervisor effectively on administrative matters.

Contract

This is a G-6 contract. This kind of contract is known as General Service and related categories. It is normally only for nationals. It usually requires 6 years of experience, depending on education.

Salary

The salary for this job should be more than 1,440 USD.

Under the supervision of the Head of Office, the Executive Associate, GS-6, provides high-level executive and operational support to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the office. The role is pivotal in enabling senior leadership to focus on strategic and substantive priorities by ensuring day-to-day operations, communications, and administrative processes are managed with professionalism, accuracy, and discretion.

As an Executive Associate, you will be a trusted partner to senior leadership, contributing directly to the effectiveness of UNICEF’s programmes and operations. Your work will help ensure timely decision-making, strong internal coordination, and compliance with organizational policies and procedures.

Key areas of responsibility include:

  • Delivering high-level administrative and operational support to ensure smooth office functioning.
  • Providing comprehensive communications and correspondence support on behalf of the supervisor.
  • Managing the supervisor’s calendar, meetings, travel, and briefing materials.

In this role, you will apply a broad range of specialized administrative and operational procedures to support senior management and their teams. By coordinating communications, following up on deadlines, and representing the head of office on administrative matters, you will help ensure efficiency, accountability, and continuity of office operations—allowing leadership to focus on delivering results for children.

Education:

Work Experience:

A minimum of six (6) years of relevant administrative, executive support, or clerical experience, preferably supporting senior-level managers.

Language Requirements:
