You have:
- Experience with calendar management of senior officials is an asset, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization.
- Experience using MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint is required.
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritizing skills and abilities.
- Ability to deal patiently and tactfully with visitors.
- High sense of confidentiality, initiative and good judgment.
- Ability to work effectively with people of different national and cultural background.
- Experience using other UNICEF software such as SharePoint; knowledge of integrated management information systems is an advantage.
Contract
This is a UNV National Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as National UN Volunteer. It is normally only for nationals. More about UNV National Specialist contracts.
Under the supervision of UNICEF Deputy Representative (Programme) and in coordination with the Executive Officer, the UN Volunteer is accountable for administrative support services to enhance the smooth running of the supervisor’s day-to day activities. The UN Volunteer promotes a client, quality and results-oriented approach.
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Deputy Representative (Programme) or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UNV Executive Assistant will:
• Maintain the supervisor’s calendar and arrange virtual and in-person meetings; • Prepare documentation for the supervisor’s signature; • Keep track and organize requests for approval; • Draft correspondence, invitations, and responses to written inquiries on routine questions; • Provides secretarial, administrative and logistics support to meetings, missions and events; • Follow up on established deadlines and ensure timely submissions by staff on reports, correspondence and other documents; • Perform any other related tasks as may be required or assigned by the supervisor.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in Beirut, Lebanon. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions.
