Why we are recruiting

We are seeking a motivated event technology services specialist to join our team. Reporting to the Head of Event Technology Services, withing the Global Programming Group (GPG), this role requires someone who has strong organizational skills, is adept at gathering detailed requirements, liaising with diverse teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and handling a mix of project management (including product management), coordination (including IT planning, logistics and admin support), strategic, and operational tasks.

The successful candidate will support and coordinate the delivery of physical and virtual events and manage various digital solutions/products for our internal GPG team.

Clear documentation, communication skills, and the ability to thrive flexibly within a complex organization are necessary.

Reporting Lines & Interactions

As part of the Global Programming Group, the Event Technology Services Specialist will interact with the Forum staff, particularly the IT Team, multiple international technology suppliers, Event Management firms, selected Strategic Partners of the Forum, and the internal IT team.

The successful candidate will be assessed on

  • The capability to manage and drive IT projects, including planning, logistics and lead resources to deliver successfully the technology for Forum Annual and Regional Meetings, as well as for smaller workshops and partner meetings.
  • The capacity to work with multiple internal Forum units (Digital Technology, Security, Event Management, Participant Services, Design, and Infrastructure) to foster technology integration according to their respective requirements.
  • The ability to identify new technology innovations to improve our Events and enhance the experience of our participants.
  • Establishing measures for success written debriefs and executive summaries.
  • Willingness to travel abroad for durations of 1 to 4 weeks several times a year.
  • Understand the Forum’s strategic goals and objectives and deliver digital products and services that support and enhance business outcomes, operations, and processes.
  • Work with stakeholder teams to define product vision based on business and user needs.
  • Plan, prioritize and implement new product functionality, processes, and tools with an emphasis on iterative, agile deployment.
  • Drive operational excellence, and process and product design that support operational performance.
  • Gather, organize, analyse, and document requirements; understand the business and user pain points, and identify and implement effective and efficient product solutions.
  • Provide functional and configuration support

Formula for Success

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science
  • 5 to 10 years’ relevant work experience
  • Experience in Event IT management
  • Experience with IT infrastructure
  • Experience in Event IT product management
  • Experience leading and operating projects
  • Experienced in driving timely delivery of end-to-end technology solutions
  • Proven leadership ability
  • Proven experience in project management and agile methodologies
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to convey concepts and ideas to an executive audience
  • Strong focus on the end-user, bringing empathy and an enthusiasm for genuinely improving how the Event Technology Services team can serve and engage people
  • Interest in technology and innovation
  • Very detailed oriented and strong analytical skills
  • Strong evaluation and problem-solving abilities
  • Exceptional service orientation
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written, digital and verbal communication skills with ability to adapt communication approach to different audiences (technical, non-technical, at different levels) German will be a plus
