Result of Service The ultimate result of the service is to help ETC organize the needed logistical work for 15-20 physical meetings, workshops, and events in Jordan in 2023.

Duties and Responsibilities The services of an individual contractor are needed to assist ESCWA Technology Centre (ETC) in arranging the logistics for its physical meetings, workshops, and events in Jordan.

The Event Logistics Assistant (ELA) will work in a timely and detailed manner to ensure ETC logistics work is complete, accurate, and complies with the Centre's policies and procedures. Specifically, the ELA will: - Assist the ETC Team in arranging and coordinating logistics for programs-related workshops; - Support the ETC Team before the events with workshop materials, ordering, and preparations of stationary, preparing participant list and attendance sheet; - Assist the ETC Team at events to set up event venue, coordinate with hotel staff, print and distribute hand-out and workshop materials, be at a registration desk to collect daily attendance sheets ensuring all information are filled up, collecting travel documents from participants, taking photos, supporting speakers presenting online, etc.; - Support the ETC Team to collect information and/or data for reporting and program activity management; - Other duties as directed by the ETC Executive Director or team members.

The IC will work under the supervision of the Executive Director of ETC.

The individual contractor will also assist in various administrative services by organizing the needed logistics for meetings, workshops, and program-related events.

Qualifications/special skills A high school diploma is preferable.

All candidates must submit a copy of the required educational degree. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed. A minimum of 5 years of work experience in event management support is required.

Languages Languages English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat; and Arabic is a working language of ESCWA.

For this position, fluency in Arabic is required.

Note: “Fluency” equals a rating of ‘fluent’ in all four areas (speak, read, write, and understand) and “Knowledge of” equals a rating of ‘confident’ in two of the four areas.
