Istanbul International Center for Private Sector in Development (ICPSD) is one of the UNDP’s six Global Policy Centers. ICPSD supports the private sector and foundations to become transformative partners in development through research, advocacy, facilitation of public-private dialogue and brokering partnerships. ICPSD leads UNDP’s global work on private sector and foundations and supports UNDP’s offices all around the world. Moreover, under the thematic area of private sector’s role in skills generation, ICPSD offers evidence-based knowledge and advisory services aiming to expand job opportunities for the disadvantaged through increasing the private sector’s engagement in skills development. This assignment is part of UNDP ICPSD’s Frontier Tech Leaders Programme. The Programme aims to raise a new generation of tech specialists to strengthen local capacities and develop digital solutions for the LDCs (Least Developed Countries) towards achieving the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals). The first implementation of the Programme is ongoing for the LDC students who are studying at the Turkish universities. Over the following months, the Programme will be implemented in several LDCs and developing countries, including but not limited to Djibouti, Bangladesh, Seychelles etc. The Programme includes Community Technology Sessions for participants. These sessions aim to offer best practices and valuable tips for understanding the trends in the fast-paced tech industry. Each session will run for 90 minutes, and the project team will facilitate them online. Further details regarding the dates, times, and beneficiaries for subsequent sessions will be provided later.

The main duties that the volunteer will be expected to carry out are: • Conduct the Community Tech Sessions for the Frontier Tech Leaders community, • Event management, production, logistics, and support: 1 event per week • Design engaging visual and written weekly content for social media platforms (submissions per event each week) • Proactively research and report on emerging trends and events across key target audiences, identifying new opportunities for increased visibility (submissions per event each week) • Social media campaign development and posting, scheduling and other associated tasks – including developing videos and other social media collateral (submissions per event each week) • Support production of webinars, presentations and knowledge sharing engagements (submissions per event each week) • General project management and support where it relates to communications and engagement • Research and outreach for partnership development (including working with the team to build partnerships across governments, the private sector, civil society, and academia) • Experience in Community or Volunteer Management • Support visual design requests and deliverables.

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

Studying with a university degree (preferably in communications, business administration, social sciences, public administration or related areas) and preferably in the last year or 3rd year of the education duration.

• Proven interest and/or experience in communications, event management and development in the tech industry.
