Overview

Develop and deliver a training on Positive Masculinities for UNRWA staff

You have:

  • An advanced university degree (Master or equivalent) from an accredited educational institution in gender studies, psychology, anthropology, international relations, social sciences, political sciences or a related area.
  • A first-level university degree (Bachelor's degree or equivalent) in combination with two additional years of qualifying work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.
  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in Engaging Men and Boys and Positive Masculinities within humanitarian or development sector or in other international settings.
  • Experience in delivering technical training on Engaging Men and Boys and Positive Masculinities for organizations and agencies working in humanitarian or development context.
  • Experience in staff training in a UN context (desirable).
  • Excellent command of spoken and written English.

Result of Service Development of training agenda and curriculum; delivery of one day in person training in Amman, Jordan; submission of the training report.

Work Location UNRWA- HQA

Expected duration The duration of the consultancy is 1 month. Remuneration will be paid for a total payment of $1,500.00. Payment will be made in one instalment.

Duties and Responsibilities Under the management of the Gender section, this position is responsible for providing a one-day specialized training on Engaging Men and Boys on Positive Masculinities to UNRWA staff, primarily Gender/GBV Officers, Child Protection Officers and general Protection staff. This training aims to improve participants’ technical understanding of the principles, methodologies and requirements underpinning Engaging Men and Boys programming; build staff capacity to design and implement EMB programming; and integrate it within existing programming.

Experience in staff training in a UN context (desirable). - Excellent command of spoken and written English.
