Job Description

Job Summary

The Employment Supervisor provides a combination of program oversight, staff supervision, partnership development, and grant maintenance. This position maintains quality control for both service provision and contractual compliance. The Employment Supervisor reports to the Sr. Program Manager of Direct Services. This position will supervise 4-7 staff, as well as several indirect reports.

Major Responsibilities

· Ensure the Employment Team provides quality services through

o Regular and timely case file reviews throughout client service period.

o Supervision of in office and field services.

o Leading weekly Employment Team Meetings; attendance at monthly Direct Service Team meetings.

o Oversight of compliance with funder expectations; budget monitoring.

· Provide quantitative and narrative grant reports, which are written to standard. Ensure timely report submission to funders.

· Regularly liaise with HQ staff, program officers. Attend all mandatory trainings, workshops, conferences, and community of practice (COP) meetings.

· Analyze and strengthen areas of program development; recommend program improvements and changes to the program manager.

· Supervise, coach, and mentor employment staff; meet weekly with each direct report for 1:1 supervision meetings.

· Assign fair and equitable caseloads to employment staff, lead case consultation meetings, and client staffing meetings.

· Meet with clients to overcome barriers to self-sufficiency, as well as compliance issues pertaining to client obligations. Act as the initial point of escalation for client grievances.

· Ensure appropriate referrals to other IRC programming, based on individual needs; timely response to all client referrals to employment services from other IRC programs.

· Work with Volunteer Coordinator to establish Match eligible volunteer and intern opportunities related to employment. Build volunteers and intern positions into the employment team.

· Cultivate employer relationships and diversify employment opportunities for clients. Respond to all requests by local employers interested in partnering with the IRC. Liaise with local workforce development boards and organization; attend monthly AZ@Work Employer Outreach Meetings.

· Other duties as assigned.

Key Working Relationships

Position Reports to: Program Manager

Position directly supervises: 4-7 Staff

Indirect Reporting: Deputy Director of Programs, Executive Director, MG Program Officer Other Internal and/or external contacts:

Internal: IRC staff, interns and volunteers.

External: AZ RRP, DES, workforce development board, community and employer partners, human services organizations.

Job Requirements

· Minimum of 2 years previous workforce development, human service management or program coordination, emphasizing contract and grant compliance; excellent analytical skills.

· Two or more years' supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to coach and develop staff.

· Undergraduate degree in related field preferred, but not required.

· Strong written and oral communication skills; the ability to effectively communicate and work as a team member with collaborative partners, the community, and clients in a cross cultural, multidisciplinary environment.

· Fluency in written and spoken English, bilingual ability preferred in Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, Dari, Pashto, or other refugee/immigrant language used in Arizona.

· Computer proficiency with an emphasis on Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook). Proven experience in web-based data entry systems, with both data extraction and design preferred.

· Highly organized self-starter with proven success prioritizing multiple tasks, making critical decisions, and delivering results in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.

· Strong attention to detail; the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.

· Flexibility and a demonstrated ability to maintain responsibility for multiple tasks in the context of a diverse, fast-paced work environment.

· Strategic, creative problem solver capable of working well independently and as a part of a team.

· Demonstrated understanding of coaching direct reports.

· Must have a valid driver’s license, active insurance policy, access to reliable transportation and willingness to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area, which is up to a 100 mile radius from the Glendale office.

· In accordance with Arizona state law, must possess or be eligible to receive a fingerprint clearance card.

Working Environment:

· Current hybrid in-office and remote work

· A combination of standard office work environment and regular travel within the service delivery area.

· Night and weekend work, as needed.
