You have:

  • BA/BS Degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Education or related fields.
  • At least two (2) years of experience in a similar position, preferably in Employability, Career Counseling, or Integration.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Greek language, spoken and written.
  • Very good knowledge of English (B2).
  • Computer skills, particularly word processing, excel spreadsheets, and internet services.
  • Excellent interpersonal, team, and communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload using initiative.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Master’s Degree in a relevant field (Career Counseling, Psychology, etc.) preferred.
  • Good knowledge of French, Arabic, or Farsi/Dari.
  • Experience in community engagement activities and initiatives.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, with problem-solving skills.
  • Intercultural awareness and flexibility.

Job Description

IRC Hellas participates as a partner in the project “Helios+: “Integrated actions for the integration of third-country citizens into the labor market” in the Region of Attica with Pr. No. 271764/05.11.2024, Call Code: 01 Helios+ and Call Name Number of OPS Information System: 12914, , funded from the Ministry of Migration and Asylum (General Secretariat for Migration Policy – Special Service for the Coordination and Management of Migration and Home Affairs Programs – E.Y.SY.D. – M.E.Y.).

The 30-month project aims to support the integration of third country citizens, Beneficiaries of International Protection and Beneficiaries of Temporary Protection in Greece, through a holistic approach which embodies their access to education, the labor market, and vocational training. The Act will include actions such as enhancing and facilitating access to the labor market through career counseling, enhancing the beneficiaries’ ability to live independently through learning the Greek language, supporting beneficiaries during the integration process and promoting interaction with local communities and their autonomous access to social and public services, enhancing independent living through the provision of housing support, sensitization of host communities and stakeholders for the social and labor integration of beneficiaries.

SCOPE OF WORK: The Employability Officer, working in the center for Attica Region (based in Athens) will be responsible for mapping potential employers and identifying job vacancies, creating a network of potential employers and external stakeholders for employment promotion events, organizing job fairs and other events related to employment/integration, as well as providing support to beneficiaries in job opportunities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Managing the employability portfolio of the project’s beneficiaries and matching job positions.

• Providing information, advice, and guidance to beneficiaries in key areas such as resume writing, job search, interview skills, career coaching, and training/education to enhance current and future employability.

• Analyzing and understanding the employment landscape and related opportunities, aiming to empower beneficiaries.

• Utilizing labor market information to build additional relationships with employers, creating further employment opportunities suited to the beneficiaries’ needs.

• Matching job requirements with vacancies and opportunities.

• Conducting detailed job analysis to understand and guide reasonable adjustments to maximize the likelihood of successful and sustainable employment services and encourage appropriate referrals.

• Organizing activities and other events related to employment and the integration of beneficiaries.

• Participating in regular team meetings and external meetings as requested;

• Ensuring relevant project data is accurately collected and updated on a weekly and monthly basis.

• Other related duties as assigned by the Helios+ Center Manager;

REQUIREMENTS:

• BA/BS Degree in Humanities, Social Sciences, Education or/and other related fields;

• Excellent knowledge of the Greek language, spoken and written;

PREFFERED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Master’s Degree in a relevant field (Career Counseling, Psychology etc.);

• Good knowledge of French, Arabic or Farsi/Dari.

• Intercultural awareness and flexibility;

WORK ENVIRNOMENT:

Working hours: 9:00-17:00

Travel and other requirements: Occasionally to other areas of IRC programs within Athens

This position is currently exclusively open to IRC employees

The position is undertaken and fulfilled by IRC and is exclusively funded by third bodies with predetermined duration to materialize a specific program.
