Key Task and Responsibilities Projects Implementation

  • Supervise the implementation of all emergency response activities with the technical support of the Emergency Response Manager / Area Manager and the CC Programme Managers.
  • Provide technical support to all CC programmes in order to ensure that emergency response is integrated into all CC activities
  • In charge of the day to day guidance of the emergency response field staff making sure that the project implementations are in line with NRC technical guideline and donor regulations and are done on time with quality.
  • Follow up on a daily basis with the support department (finance, logistics, HR and administration) to guarantee the smooth running of emergency response activities that include movement planning, internal request, payments, HR, etc.
  • Follow up all NRC emergency response activities implemented in all the targeted areas.
  • Identify training needs of Internal Emergency Roster, ERT, community committees and all the service providers, volunteers and organize/facilitate training events as needed.
  • Assist with the training of the Internal Emergency Roster and ERT field teams to ensure they have a solid understanding of the project technical design, implementation approaches, NRC & donor’s policies and tools, including M&E tools.
  • Lead on stakeholder sensitization and maintain good working relationship with all stakeholders in the respective geographic areas.
  • Liaise and collaborate with relevant local authorities and other key stakeholders at the field and Cox’s Bazar level.
  • In close coordination with M&E team, ensure all monitoring and evaluating activities are carried out on time, and lessons learnt are shared and capitalized on.
  • In case of emergency, be prepared to contribute to the delivery of an appropriate and timely response.
  • Ensure adequate and safe records of all project deliveries (Emergency Supplies, CASH assistance, in-kind etc.) which should be requested as harmonized to the registered beneficiaries including but not be limited to beneficiary database, receipt, emergency kits request, and distributions.
  • Regularly visit the project sites to ensure that the implementation of activities is closely monitored and filed teams are appropriately supported.

Representation

  • Representing the organization externally
  • Collaborating and coordinating with the government, NGOs, clusters and UN agencies in absence of ERPM
  • Participating in area level emergency response meetings and other relevant humanitarian/recovery coordination meetings
  • Ensuring that all relevant stakeholders have information about the organization’s background, program, objectives, working areas and activities in the field

Key Education and Skills Requirements

  • University degree preferably in disaster management, social sciences, development studies or other relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years working experience in a humanitarian emergency and recovery context

  • Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
  • Good reporting and documentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills & problem solving skills
  • Good oral and written English, as well as being computer literate
  • Knowledge of the local context.
  • Experience with start-up, exit or similar
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. ‎
  • Ability to work independently and creatively. ‎
