You have:

- Experienced user of HR/People Management systems
- Experienced user of Microsoft Office – excel, ppt, word, O365/sharepoint
- Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Additional language skills (French or Spanish) an asset
Contract

The Emergency Response Section (ERS) in the HO Field Operations Department has systems and capacities for improved emergency response, both in start-ups and for existing operations facing sudden changes in their context or unexpected critical staffing gaps. ERS is working with NRC regional offices and country offices, supporting them with short-term deployments (1-6 months) of highly qualified managers and experts within different functions and areas of expertise. ERS’s emergency human resource capacities consists of the Global Surge Roster of approximately 110 members and a pool of 19 staff on international global roving contract. Incoming deployment requests are prioritised according to the organisation’s strategic priorities and ERS’s mandate, which in general terms means that priority crisis, start-up of new country offices (or area offices), scale up of operations and sudden onset emergencies are prioritised over requests for support for the purpose of quality enhancement/capacity building and critical staffing gaps.
About the Role
The purpose of the Emergency Deployment Specialist role is to ensure high quality and timely deployment of ERS human resource capacities to NRC country programme and follow up of Surge Roster members in the field, ensuring that they are enabled to deliver work of high quality and in line with NRC’s strategic goals.
The work requires close coordination and collaboration with the Head of Emergency Human Resources who manages a majority of the section’s global roving staff.
Your responsibilities will also include
- Coordinate individual deployments of Global Surge Roster members and Global Roving staff, in collaboration with internal counterparts
- Overall management and administration of the Global Surge Roster and its members, prior to, during and after their individual deployments
- Coordinate assessment, selection, and categorisation of new Surge Roster members
- Update and develop the Global Surge Roster database
- Establish strong work relations with key internal counterparts at different levels within the organisation
- Provide support to the induction and end of assignment process and procedures for ERS staff on international global roving contract, i.e., Global Roving staff and Global Emergency Response Team (ERT) staff
- Update deployment tracking tools (e.g., for ICT, Finance/Payroll, NRC People) for ERS emergency human resource capacities, both Roster members and staff on global roving contract,
- Mentoring of intern
- Facilitate and promote best practice and learning across departments/offices
- Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures
