- Knowledge of 2D/3D, stop motion and computer-generated animation, and experience with visual design and video editing using applications such as Flash and Premiere Pro is an asset.
- Ability to translate data into compelling infographics, visualization, and facto graphs for print and/or digital platforms.

Contract

Enhancing Democracy and Electoral Processes in Mozambique:2022-2025 is a four-year multi-donor UNDP project and builds on previous electoral support and lessons learned as Mozambique enters its next electoral cycle, including the run-up to 2023 Municipality Elections and 2024 General Elections. The project is developed based on the formal request from the Government of Mozambique, the recommendation of the Needs assessment Mission (NAM) conducted by the United Nations on March/April 2021, the international election observers reports on 2019 elections and is aligned to the UNDP Country Programme Document (CPD) and Mozambique Government's Five Year-Plan 2020-2024 (Programa Quinquenal do Governo, PQG).
Through its Strategic Plan, UNDP stresses the importance of consolidating and strengthening democratic processes and institutional practice in Mozambique. Fundamental to these goals is the engagement of citizens as the primary stakeholders in the governance and administration of Mozambique with the aim to achieve complete adherence to the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030.
UNDP is committed to promoting the participation of vulnerable and marginalized groups and gender equality in democratic processes and the project activities are developed around key Sustainable Development Goals related to Gender Equality (SDG 5) and Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions (SDG 16).
Under the direct supervision of the Chief Technical Specialist (CTA) and the overall guidance of the Electoral Digital Solutions Specialist, the duties undertaken by the Electoral Graphic Design Specialist include, but are not limited to:
• Design and development of creative graphic images, illustrations/ artworks, charts, and technical solutions for public outreach, Civic and Voter Education information materials and products for CNE and STAE.
• Layout and design the reporting, information and communication materials (banners, posters, booklets, leaflets, books, calendars, bulletins, flyers, CD / DVD/ Flash drive packaging, reports and infographics) for printing and electronic distribution;
• Develop project information products and material for joint UNDP-donor visibility strategy including periodic electoral updates, and progress reports.
• Ensure design deliverables are following UNDP guidelines, on brand and optimized per delivery channel (e.g. digital or print);
• Any additional requirements and jobs assigned by the supervisor.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials.
