  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office programs
  • Intern must have access to a Windows-based personal computer throughout the course of the internship

Job Description

This internship is fully remote.

BACKGROUND The International Rescue Committee is a global humanitarian organization dedicated to providing high-quality programming for refugees and migrants resettling to the United States. The IRC is committed to developing innovative programs that respond to newcomers’ unique strengths and needs, using our learning and experience to shape policy and practice, and highlighting and promoting best practices in service provision.

SCOPE OF INTERN WORK

As part of the Research, Analysis and Learning team at the IRC, the e-Learning Design Intern will partner with instructional designers, subject matter experts, and internal stakeholders to create and improve design solutions aligned with learning outcomes. This internship is ideal for someone with a keen interest in expanding their knowledge in online course design and is enthusiastic about creating engaging and interactive learning materials. They will be tasked with maintaining, evaluating, and revising content in our Learning Management System using authoring tools such as Articulate Rise and Storyline. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience in e-learning development while actively contributing to the IRC's mission to support refugees and communities affected by crisis.

COMMITMENT: 6-12 months

RESPONSIBILITIES

(1) Partner with subject matter experts and stakeholders to assist in the maintenance of existing course content in our Kaya Learning Management System; (2) Utilize authoring tools such as Articulate Rise or Storyline to build and assemble e-learning modules, applying your creativity and problem-solving skills to enhance the learning experience; (3) Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and effectiveness of instructional materials; (4) Participate in organizing and structuring course content, ensuring alignment with learning objectives and instructional design principles; (5) Assist in the integration of multimedia elements, such as videos, audio, and graphics, to create visually appealing and interactive e-learning modules.
