Contribute to education results in emergency settings

You have:

  • An advanced university degree in education, economics, psychology, sociology, or another relevant technical field is required.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.

Contract

This is a NO-3 contract. This kind of contract is known as National Professional Officers. It is normally only for nationals. It's a staff contract. More about NO-3 contracts.

How can you make a difference?

The Education Specialist contributes to achievement of results according to plans, allocation, results-based management approaches and methodology (RBM), as well as standards of performance, and accountability framework.

This Early Learning and Education in Emergency position will also provide technical support to the national positioning and integration of emergency programme. It will lead the implementation of coordination role at the national level, including strengthen the national structure and ensure sustainability of the role. Additionally, it is very much in alignment with the new shift of a more upstream work to support national system, the national policy, capacity and partnerships to underpin support to the Government’s vision of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2031.
