How can you make a difference?

The Specialist provides technical guidance and management support throughout the programming processes to facilitate the administration and achievement of results on education and skills programmes/projects to improve learning outcomes, skills and equitable and inclusive education, especially for children and adolescents who are marginalized, disadvantaged and excluded in society.

Position 1 – Dhaka, Education Specialist

This Early Learning and Education in Emergency position will also provide technical support to the national positioning and integration of the emergency programme. It will lead the implementation of coordination roles at the national level, including strengthening the national structure and ensure the sustainability of the role. Additionally, it is very much in alignment with the new shift of more upstream work to support the national system, the national policy, capacity and partnerships to underpin support to the Government’s vision of becoming an upper-middle-income country by 2031.

Position 2 – Dhaka, Education Specialist

The Education Specialist contributes to the achievement of results in the areas of education and skills for children and adolescents according to plans, allocation, results-based management approaches and methodology (RBM), as well as standards of performance, and accountability framework.

Major Duties and Tasks:

  1. Support to programme development and planning
  2. Programme management, monitoring and delivery of results
  3. Technical and operational support to programme implementation
  4. Networking and partnership building
  5. Innovation, knowledge management and capacity building

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • An advanced university degree in one of the following fields is required: education, economics, psychology, sociology, or another relevant technical field.
  • A minimum of five years of professional experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required.
  • Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
  • Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language or local language of the duty station is considered as an asset.
