You have:

  • Education in Education, social science, development, international relations, political science, or related field required
  • Experience of programme management, preferably in the education sector
  • Fluent in English (Mandatory)
  • Candidates must be 25 years of age or older

Contract

Description of task

Under the direct supervision of Education Specialist, Mbarara Zone Office, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • Support the Districts in Education Programme, Planning, Implementation and Monitoring for improved efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Plan, implement and monitor the UNICEF supported activities.
  • Analyse the District Education data to generate evidence for advocacy and evidence-based planning.
  • Support the District Local Government in the coordination of the donor and NGO funded activities in the Education Sector
  • Support innovation, including use of technology in the Education Sector.

  • Document the results and the lessons learnt from the implementation of the UNICEF supported activities and generate evidence for advocacy and scaling up of the interventions.

Experience remark

Experience of programme management, preferably in the education sector. Experience in a developing country will be an asset.

Prerequisites This assignment is funded by the Government of Japan, therefore only nationals from Japan are eligible to apply. Please note that if you have previously served as a UN Volunteer under Japan Trust Fund, you are not eligible to apply. This is a UN Volunteer assignment and eligible candidates must be 25 years of age or older. Selection process Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
