You have:
- Master degree or equivalent education in relevant field is required.
- 36 months of experience in programme planning, management, or research in education is required.
- Fluent in English is mandatory.
- Knowledge of Finnish or Swedish is required for application.
- Experience working in a developing country is considered an asset.
- Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is an asset.
Contract
This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of the Education Specialist, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
- Support the roll out of the joint interventions and activities between the Ministry of Education and Technical Education and UNICEF as stipulated in the Joint Work Plan;
- Support to programme development and planning;
- Provide technical and operational support to program implementation;
- Provide support to the Education Sector Analysis and Plan under the Global Partnership for Education;
- Support cross sectoral collaboration with other sections when needed.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Master degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:
A university degree in one of the following fields is required: education, psychology, sociology or another relevant technical field.

Experience remark:
Experience in programme planning, management, and/or research in education is required.
Experience working in a developing country is considered as an asset.
Relevant experience in a UN system agency or organization is considered as an asset.

Selection process

Pre-departure training organized by the Government of Finland
The selected candidate will be invited to attend a training on Finland’s development policy and cooperation prior to deployment from 1 to 3 September 2021.
