You have:
- A university degree in education, psychology, sociology, IT, Engineering, or another relevant technical field is required.
- A minimum of one year of professional experience in programme planning, monitoring, management, and/or research in education is required.
- Experience working in humanitarian and emergency education contexts is considered an asset.
- Experience in NGO IT capacity development is considered an asset.
- Fluency in Arabic and solid English proficiency is required.
Contract

How can you make a difference?
Under the supervision of Education Specialist P4, the Education Officer provides professional technical, operational and administrative assistance throughout the programming process and operationalization of digital and distance education modalities, with special focus on the development of the UNICEF Syria Learning Passport website, which hosts pedagogical materials and learning games in support of the cognitive development of children attending remedial classes and temporary learning spaces.
The Education Officer provides technical support in planning, implementing, monitoring and evaluating the “Learning Passport” programme/distance learning programme, mainstreaming it into Education in Emergency response.
The main activities include but not limited to:
- Development of online content that helps children realize their right to education – textbooks, learning games, messages, psychosocial support.
- Online monitoring of learning impact and student achievements.
- Reaching the most vulnerable through fit-for-purpose distance education modalities that are context-adequate, cost-effective and efficient for Syria.
- Assist with monitoring and reporting of nonformal education results.
