You have:
- At least 3 years of professional work experience in Education Access, Formal Education, or related field is required.
- Experience working in the UN or other international development organization is an asset.
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills is required.
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing is required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; culturally and socially sensitive; ability to work inclusively and collaboratively with a range of partners is required.
- Ability to work and adapt professionally in a challenging environment.
- Solid overall computer literacy, including proficiency in various MS Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) and email/internet is required.
- Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision; ability to work with tight deadlines is required.

This UNV assignment is part of UNICEF Lebanon’s Education Access programme, which aims to ensure equitable access to safe, inclusive, and continuous learning opportunities for all children, particularly the most vulnerable Lebanese and non-Lebanese children. The Education Access portfolio focuses on removing barriers to enrolment and retention, supporting school-level implementation of education Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), strengthening monitoring and data systems, and reinforcing coordination between Formal Education and Multiple Flexible Pathways (MFP). Within this framework, the UN Volunteer will support field-level monitoring, data gathering and analysis, partner coordination, and reporting related to Formal Education access interventions.
In addition to duty station specific vaccine requirements, appointments are subject to confirmation of fully vaccinated status against SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19) with a World Health Organization (WHO)-endorsed vaccine, which must be met prior to taking up the appointment. It does not apply to UN Volunteers who will work remotely and are not expected to work on or visit UNICEF premises, programme delivery locations or directly interact with communities UNICEF works with, nor to travel to perform functions for UNICEF for the duration of their contracts.

Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of the Education Specialist (Access), the UN Volunteer will support the implementation, monitoring, and coordination of UNICEF’s Formal Education access portfolio in Lebanon. The UNV will contribute to strengthening evidence-based planning, field-level monitoring, and partner coordination to enhance equitable access to quality learning opportunities for all children.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities: -Support the monitoring of Formal Education Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring consistent application across implementing partners and schools. -Conduct regular field visits to public schools to monitor programme implementation, identify bottlenecks, and document good practices and challenges. -Support data collection, cleaning, and analysis related to school enrolment, attendance, retention, and transition of children within Formal Education programmes. -Assist in maintaining and updating education access databases and dashboards to support evidence-based decision-making. -Contribute to the preparation of monitoring reports, visit summaries, and partner feedback notes, highlighting key findings and recommendations. -Assist in tracking progress against programme targets and indicators within the Formal Education portfolio. -Support the organization of coordination meetings, workshops, and training sessions related to Formal Education access. -Assist in drafting inputs for situation reports, and internal programme updates. -Assist in organizing donor visits and required briefing notes for Formal Education. -Perform any other related tasks as assigned by the supervisor in support of UNICEF’s Education Access programme.

- At least 3 years of professional work experience, at the national and/or international level, in Education Access; Formal Education; programme support, data analysis, coordination and engagement with counterparts, Education in Emergencies; Monitoring and Evaluation or another related field is required.
- Experience working in the UN or other international development organization is an asset.
- Excellent oral and written skills; excellent drafting, formulation, reporting skills is required.
- Accuracy and professionalism in document production and editing is required.

As this is a national UN Volunteer assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. This position is based in Beirut, Lebanon. National UN Volunteers are part of the malicious insurance plan. National UN Volunteers are expected to be culturally sensitive and adjust to the prevailing culture and traditions.
