One of the BEAR II programmatic strategies is to improve the perception of TVET among young people and society through an annual skills competition week for TVET stakeholders, including students and parents, teachers, institutions and employers. Long Description ---------------- **Overall Objective** This assignment aims to provide technical assistance and support in the design, implementation and evaluation of the Tanzania National Skills Competition (NSC),focusing on skills promotion through running a national skills competition and sending young Tanzanian to compete at Regional and International skills competitions, in particular the World Skills Competition being done in every year. Long Description ---------------- **Activities to be implemented.** •Activity 1: Standardization and Harmonization. Work in close collaboration with Ministry of Education Science and Technology; NACTE, VETA and VTA in Zanzibar to develop an overall organization, institutional arrangement towards skills competition, methodology and related guidelines, policies and manuals for the implementation of the National Skills Show and Competition (NSC) •Activity 2: Develop a National Skills Competition Strategy this will include preparation of Annual Action Plan and Budget •Activity 3: Conduct an assessment from other related initiatives such as MAKISATU, TET Exhibition, and Skills Fair and determine the gaps on the Skills show and exhibition in Tanzania •Activity 4: Conduct Capacity Building to MoEST, NACTE, VETA and VTA on the use of manuals and guideline, for undertaking A National Skills show and competition •Activity 5: Form Skills Competition technical team (One in Zanzibar and other in mainland) that will be responsible for preparation of National TVET Skills Competition in mainland and Zanzibar in September 2021. •Activity 6: Develop a National Skills Competition Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Framework for assessing the outcomes and impact of the National TVET Skills Week. •Activity 7: Develop a sustainable model for the private sectors to effectively participate in a National Skills Competition in Tanzania •Activity 8: Create a linkage (membership) between Tanzania through its National Skills Competition implementing institutions and WorldSkills International for visibility and develop partnerships for the implementation of a national skills week and competition.
