Scale and scope of position
Staff: Shared supervision of incentive staff
Stakeholders: Key external stakeholders such as local Directorate of Education, INGOs, local NGOs,
school administration, parents and community members
Budgets: No budgetary responsibilities
Information: Responsible for weekly site visit reports and indicator tracking
Legal or : Responsible for reporting any Code of Conduct violation or Child Protection
compliance concern to line manager immediately

Professional competencies
These are skills, knowledge and experience that are important for effective performance.
Generic professional competencies:
- Experience from working as a Project Assistant in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts ability to remain calm and professional in tense situations
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Knowledge of local languages, especially Arabic. Knowing English is an advantage
- Solid computer skills, including MS Word, Outlook and Excel
- Proven ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
- Ability to work diligently both independently and in a team setting
Specific skills, knowledge and experience:
- Understanding of the circumstances, needs and challenges trauma-affected children face
- Understanding of the role of education in meeting the needs of trauma-affected children
- Understanding of SPHERE and/or INEE minimum standards
Knowledge of the basics of Child Protection and/or psychosocial support
Experience working with children and/or educators; MoE-level experience a plus
- Experience in community mobilization and/or relationship building
- Candidates with a university and/or advanced degree preferred
