You have:
- Master's degree in Political Science, Communications or Education in an International context required.
- 2 years professional work experience at national/international level.
- Fluent in English
- Working knowledge of French (optional)
- No driving license required
Contract
This is a UNV International Specialist contract. This kind of contract is known as International UN Volunteer. It is normally internationally recruited only. More about UNV International Specialist contracts.
Eligibility criteria
Minimum age: 25 years old. Nationals of the country of assignment are not eligible, except the assignments in Headquarters duty stations.
Description of task
Under the direct supervision of Sam Barratt, Chief, Youth, Education & Advocacy Unit, Ecosystems Division, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
Formal Education Partnership Support:
Support the growth of partnerships and delivery of work being done with new partners within the Youth and Education Alliance. This will include working with partners on projects ranging from the Race to Zero. Little Book of Green Nudges and the new Normative Framerowk that are seeking to support the green transition of Universities across the world.
Oversee delivery and evaluation of partner performance, events and communication assets as required;
Support activities around partnership engagement as and when required
Outreach Support:
Liaise with key partners to deliver on the outcomes of this programme and distribute communications assets when required;
Support in the creation and dissemination of newsletters and other communications products as needed;
Work on the upkeep of the Unit website which includes uploading new stories and content on a regular basis.
Environmental Education:
Support the partnership with partners such as UNESCO and TED-Ed around environmental education projects for 2021;
Work with higher education partners and governments to scale up environmental education work globally per a new project currently being designed in-house.
Support Other Projects as/when required:
Support the team on key projects as/when required. This will range from finalizing the normative framework to setting up new sustainable campus networks in under-represented regions.
Qualifications/Requirements
Required degree level:
Master degree or equivalent
Education - Additional Comments:
Masters degree in Political Science, Communications or Education in an International context required, and with a strong track record of project management and delivery. A first-level university degree or equivalent in combination with relevant training and/or professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree;
Required experience:
24 Months
Experience remark:
2 years professional work experience at the national/international level working in a university environment with insight as to how to work with such institutions around the tasks described above, or other relevant programmes, as is experience working in the UN or other international development organization
