ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT:
The World Food Programme (WFP), 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laurate, is the world's largest humanitarian agency, fighting hunger worldwide. WFP is part of the United Nations system. On average, WFP reaches more than 90 million people with food assistance in 80 countries each year. About 18,000 people work for the organization, most of them in remote areas, directly serving the hungry poor.
With a presence in Colombia since 1969, WFP is the UN agency that supports the Colombian Government and national institutions in their goal of eradicating malnutrition by 2030, while promoting local economic development and providing transformative and sustainable solutions in the context of peacebuilding, humanitarian assistance, and management of mass migration from Venezuela. WFP has a territorial presence in 15 departments of the country through eight offices strategically located in the capitals of the departments of Arauca, Caquetá, Córdoba, Chocó, La Guajira, Nariño, Norte de Santander, and Valle del Cauca. Its activities are strongly aligned with the priorities of the National Government to address the needs of humanitarian assistance, recovery, development and peace throughout the Colombian territory.
The Graphic Designer and Video Editor will be under the overall guidance and supervision of the Communications Coordinator and work closely with national and international communications officers, assistants and interns of the team in Bogota. The Unit is responsible for managing strategic communications, advocacy and marketing in Colombia, using traditional media, blogs, campaigns, events and social media platforms to promote its messages. Some country specific priorities include emergency, preparedness and response, climate change adaptation, peace and social protection to reach zero hunger.
The candidate will perform a variety of tasks, subject to the team's workload and priorities at the time. The incumbent will have the following duties and responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (nota ll-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
Content and Products
- Produce quality visibility material such as graphs, charts, illustrative maps, diagrams, icons, and graphics aligned with WFP branding guidelines and elements;
- Layout reports, pagers, factsheets, and other publication materials;
- Deliver creative graphic and technical solutions for use of new media;
- Design and implementation of templates such as brochures, info sheets, presentations and situation reports and convert them to other publishing software (Publisher, Word, PowerPoint);
- Create and enhance existing communications material, including brochures, posters, two-three-four-pagers, report templates, newsletter, infographics and other internal and external communications materials according to corporate branding and style guidelines;
- Design new, and update existing, social media banners and audiovisual content to reflect corporate branding and style guidelines;
- Assist in developing web design mock-ups for internal and external platforms;
- Prepare templates for social media videos and platforms like YouTube, as well as editing the the videos themselves in Adobe Premiere or Canva.
- Prepare internal guidelines for print and web best practices;
- Edit photos and create graphics/other design products using Adobe software in Macintosh or PC interfaces.

Administrative and General Support
- Take photos/film at events.
- Participates in organizing and setting up for special events organized or led by the Communications Unit as necessary.
- Maintain up-to-date Trello boards for social media content and internal/external campaigns
- Upload, organize and archive graphics, photos and videos to/in the appropriate libraries using SharePoint.
- Deliver creative and innovative ideas for print, web and interactive presentations.
- Complete other projects as assigned, including preparing engaging Power Point presentations and materials, translating text, generate transcripts and adds subtitles in different languages to videos, keeping inventory up to date.

STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
University degree or specialized college diploma (MA) in Graphic Design, Multimedia Production, Media, Visual Arts, Digital Narratives, or related area;
Experience:
- At least 4 years of continuous experience post-graduation producing audio-visual content at a professional level, or at 3 least years of continuous experience combined with a postgraduate title in related areas;
- Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative software (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, LightRoom);
- Experience using video editing software, specifically Premiere Pro and Canva.
Desirable experience:
- Proficiency in MS Office Publisher, Word, SharePoint, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Basic knowledge of HTML and motion graphics and After Effects an asset;
- Experience on sound design an asset.
- Previous work or projects with international organizations or within the UN System an asset.
Language:
Excellent knowledge of English and Spanish (oral and written communication) is required.
