Duties and Responsibilities

Under the supervision of the GLRS reporting lead, the responsibilities of the writer/editor will include: • Editing the full content of the CERF Annual Results Report, the Secretary-General’s Report on CERF and the CBPF Synthesis Report based on drafts provided by GLRS. • Redrafting selected sections of the reports to ensure that the final products are written with consistent language and are appropriately tailored to their audiences. • Ensuring adherence of the reports to the OCHA style guide. • Reviewing all graphics of the reports to ensure consistency of titles and labels. • Supporting GLRS with version control during various rounds of edits. • Assisting with the final quality control of the reports.

Qualifications/special skills

High School with relevant experience in communication, journalism, international relations, public relations, or related field. A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible experience with editorial work is required. Experience in working with the UN and private sector is required. Experience in drafting humanitarian flagship publications is desired. Understanding of the role of Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) and Country-based Pooled Funds (CBPF) and their reports is desired.

Languages

English and French are working languages in the United Nations. For this job opening, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.
