Result of Service
Submission of the whole text edited in English in two versions: a version in track changes and clean version with changes already incorporated by the editor, with particular emphasis on impartiality, timeliness, accuracy, consistency and in conformity with UN editing standards. Submission of corrected laid-out proofs.

Duties and Responsibilities
The assignment comprises editing and proofreading the Disability Care and Support Systems–Country Assessment Tool (27,000 words). Editing will be undertaken at USD 116 per 1,000 words, and proofreading of the laid-out version at USD 47 per 1,000 words. Editing deliverables: review MS Word manuscript in line with the United Nations Editorial Manual, ensuring correct spelling, grammar, punctuation, syntax, usage, and OHCHR/UN brand voice. Restructure text to improve clarity and flow, avoiding unnecessary formalism, minimizing acronyms, and ensuring consistency. Technical terms, references, names, titles, and country denominations will be verified against UN sources. Gender-inclusive and disability-inclusive language will be applied per UN guidelines. Footnotes, tables, figures, and text boxes will be checked for accuracy and sequencing. Headings and subheadings will be harmonized with the table of contents. Ambiguities will be clarified with OHCHR Publications and the author section. The manuscript will be finalized after OHCHR’s review and author approval. Proofreading deliverables: review laid-out proofs against the final edited manuscript to ensure textual congruency and integrity of illustrative material. Layout errors will be corrected through Adobe Acrobat Reader annotations in three rounds. Hyperlinks, italics, photo credits, and formatting will be checked for accuracy, with OHCHR Publications consulted to ensure corrections are implemented by the designer.
