UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub (BRH) supports 24 country offices implement programmes to alleviate poverty and reduce income parity, while improving gender parity and governance, and sustainable management of the natural resources. We are seeking the support of Online Volunteers with English proofreading experience to edit and proofread evaluation reports, project reports, proposals and communication and knowledge products up to 50-60 pages. While Volunteers should provide constructive feedback and suggestions on the style, tone, flow and coherence of documents, BRH assumes full responsibility for the approval of the documents' final version. Consultations will be by email through the coordinator at BRH, including feedback iterations and on a deadline for finalizing the mentioned documents. Each Volunteer will take up to 10-15 documents during the 16 week period, depending on requests from UNDP country offices. The country offices will fully credit Online Volunteers on the final product.

    UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub supports the 24 country offices which implements programmes in 36 countries in the Asia Pacific Region. Through this assignment, Online Volunteers will support the UNDP Bangkok Regional Hub (BRH) in assisting the country offices in the Asia Pacific region with proofreading and editing of high-level technical and communication materials to ensure quality in the work we do. This support ensures prompt turn over of reporting and publications, increasing the visibility and our work in the region. Online Volunteers collaborating successfully on this task are welcome to apply to future, similar opportunities.

  • Volunteers: 15 needed

  • 6-10 hours per week / 16 weeks

    A first-level degree in English, journalism, or communications with a Masters' degree preferred. Demonstrated experience in editing research papers, news stories or press releases is essential. Fluency in English - both speaking and grammar. Strong background in editing, proofreading, either in journalism in development work, in non-profit organizations is an asset.
